Actinomycosis of the sigmoid colon

Penicillin, achromycin and potassium iodide proved effective in the postoperative management of this disease which was complicated by infection with Escherchia coli in the abdominal wall.

The disease affected 3 patients in their twenties. Females are slightly more commonly involved.2. Two‐thirds of the patients had a typical non‐urgent mode of presentation.
