Sigmoid Volvulus Due Chagas Disease

open access: yes, 2020
American Trypanosomiasis, also known as Chagas disease, is a parasitic disease caused by Trypanosoma cruzi and transmitted by hematophagous vectors, occupies the fourth place as a cause of loss of potential years of life between infectious and parasitic diseases, and has an acute presentation form and chronic, in which it can present complications at ...

Spatiotemporal Characterization of the Functional MRI Latency Structure with Respect to Neural Signaling and Brain Hierarchy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Resting‐state fMRI captures intrinsic brain activity, yet the physical significance of latency structures remains unclear. In this study, the spatiotemporal properties of fMRI‐derived latency structures are examined by linking them to biophysical model‐based neural functions, intrinsic neural timescales, and functional gradients.

Painting Peptides With Antimicrobial Potency Through Deep Reinforcement Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
AMPainter is a powerful design model for ’painting’ the antimicrobial potency on any given peptide sequence, based on the strategy of virtual directed evolution and deep reinforcement learning. Abstract In the post‐antibiotic era, antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) are considered ideal drug candidates because of their lower likelihood of inducing resistance.

Morphological changes in the enteric nervous system caused by carcinoma of the human large intestine.

open access: yesFolia Histochemica et Cytobiologica, 2010
The innervations of the large intestine is responsible for it peristalsis and contractibility. Investigations of the enteric nervous system in many colon diseases have revealed changes in this structure.

Targeting ROCK2 to Restore Epileptic Synaptic Networks via Mitophagy Activation: Insights from Translational Imaging of SV2A In Vivo

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
By integrating synaptic vesicle glycoprotein 2A PET imaging and transcriptomics, this study identifies Rho‐associated protein kinase 2 (ROCK2) as a critical regulator of synaptic network dysfunction in temporal lobe epilepsy. Pharmacological ROCK2 inhibition restores synaptic density and enhances mitophagy, thereby reducing seizures and neuronal damage.
