Simultaneous optimization of shape, thickness and topology of shell structures using sigmoid function

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2019
Advancement of computer technologies as well as the developments of structural materials and construction methods have enabled us to design a so-called free-form shell, which has complex shape and topology that cannot be categorized to traditional shapes.

High‐Throughput Encapsulation of Stem Cells: Characterizing Dynamic Culture Variability With a Millifluidic Approach

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A high throughput millifluidic encapsulation platform is engineered and standardized. The system's output allows the monitoring of cell expansion in strong dynamic conditions. High polymer crosslinking leads to higher cell proliferation and lower cell growth on microgel's surface.

Sigmoid Neural Transfer Function Realised by Percolation

open access: yes, 1996
An experiment using the phenomenon of percolation has been conducted to demonstrate the implementation of neural functionality (summing and sigmoid transfer). A simple analog approximation to digital percolation is implemented.

Cold Atmospheric Plasma Selectively Disrupts Breast Cancer Growth in a Bioprinted 3D Tumor‐Stroma Co‐Culture Model

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This research introduces a cold plasma‐based platform for treating breast cancer bone metastases. Using a novel bioprinted 3D tumor‐stroma model, it highlights the selective antitumor effects of plasma‐generated reactive species. The platform aims to advance non‐invasive therapeutic strategies, offering potential clinical applications in controlling ...

Multienzyme (3‐in‐1)‐Mimicking a Single Nucleobase‐Derived Bionanozyme for Versatile Environmental and Biomedical Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This study reports the development of bioinspired 2D crystalline Bionanozyme derived from a single nucleobase. It effectively mimics multienzyme activity to detect and remove phenolic pollutants, identify disease biomarkers with high sensitivity, and protect cells from oxidative stress.

Coefficient Bounds for Bazilevic Functions Associated with Modified Sigmoid Function [PDF]

open access: yesAsian Research Journal of Mathematics, 2017
The focus of the present paper is to obtain the sharp upper bounds of  a2 (α) and a3 (α) for functions belonging to the Bazilevic class B(α,n,γ,ø)   associated with modified sigmoid function. The connection of these bounds to the celebrated Fekete-Szego functional | a3(α)- µa22 (α)|  follows as simple consequence.

Empowering Random Walk Link Prediction Algorithms in Complex Networks by Adapted Structural Information

open access: yesIEEE Access
In the link prediction problem a relevant algorithm running over a network attempts to determine whether a link between two nodes will exist in the future, given that it is not present at the moment.

Adsorption and Separation by Flexible MOFs

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Flexible metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) present significant potential for gas storage and separation due to their structural dynamic. This review explores the rationale behind the flexible MOFs' enhanced working capacity and separation factors. It also addresses key challenges, including phase transition kinetics, crystal robustness, cycling, shaping,
