Estimation of leaf area index in the sunflower as a function of thermal time1
The aim of this study was to obtain a mathematical model for estimating the leaf area index (LAI) of a sunflower crop as a function of accumulated thermal time. Generating the models and testing their coefficients was carried out using data obtained from

A SOLUTION TO THE DOUBLE DUMMY CONTRACT BRIDGE PROBLEM INFLUENCED BY SUPERVISED LEARNING MODULE ADAPTED BY ARTIFICIAL NEURAL NETWORK [PDF]
Contract Bridge is an intellectual game which motivates multiple skills and application of prior experience and knowledge, as no player knows accurately what moves other players are capable of making.

(θ,μ,τ)-neighborhood for analytic functions involving modified sigmoid function
Summary: In the present investigation we discuss the neighborhoods of analytic functions defined by using modified sigmoid function. Further, we also give some applications of Jack's lemma.

On the Effect of Labour Productivity on Growth: Endogenous Fluctuations and Complex Dynamics
This paper introduces a sigmoidal production function that considers production possible even when the only input is labour. The long-run behaviour of an economy described by the neoclassical Solow-type growth model with differential savings is ...

Certain subclass of univalent functions involving modified sigmoid function
By making use of a generalised Sǎlǎgean differential operator involving modified real sigmoid function, the authors defined a certain subclass of univalent functions denoted by Gγ (β,ξ,µ,η). Various geometric properties of the class were established.

Analysis of the Chen’s and Pham’s Software Reliability Models
In this paper we study the Hausdorff approximation of the shifted Heaviside step function ht0(t) by sigmoidal functions based on the Chen’s and Pham’s cumulative distribution functions and find an expression for the error of the best approximation.

Horseshoe Chaos in a 3D Neural Network with Different Activation Functions
This paper studies a small neural network with three neurons. First, the activation function takes the sign function. Although the network is a simple hybrid system with all subsystems being exponentially stable, we find that it can exhibit very complex ...

Sigmoid functions in reliability based management
This paper introduces the theoretical background of a few possible applications of the so-called sigmoid-type functions in manufacturing and service management. An extended concept of reliability, derived from fuzzy theory, is discussed here to illustrate how reliability based management decisions can be made consistent, when handling of weakly defined
