Signal Detection

Drug Safety, 2007
A primary aim in pharmacovigilance is the timely detection of either new adverse drug reactions (ADRs) or a relevant change of the frequency of ADRs that are already known to be associated with the drugs involved, i.e. signal detection. Adequate signal detection solely based on the human intellect (case-by-case analysis or qualitative signal detection)

Signal Detection and Chlorpromazine

Human Factors: The Journal of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society, 1971
Nine normal subjects were tested on an auditory signal detection task under six signal-to-noise conditions while under the influence of different dosages of chlorpromazine, a commonly used major tranquilizer. A significant subject-x-drug-dosage-level interaction was found, some subjects showing impairment of signal detection performance while on ...

Visual signal detection II Signal-location identification

Journal of the Optical Society of America A, 1984
We have measured the effect of signal-location uncertainty on the detectability of simple visual signals in uncorrelated image noise. An M-alternative forced-choice signal-location identification technique was used with values of M ranging from 2 to 1800.

Monitoring Readily Detected Auditory Signals and Detection of Obscure Visual Signals

Perceptual and Motor Skills, 1963
Twenty-four Ss were required to detect infrequently and randomly occurring visual and auditory signals under six different schedules. In four of the sessions there were 40 visual signals and, respectively, 0, 20, 40, or 80 auditory signals. In two sessions there were 20 visual signals and 20 or 60 auditory signals.

WiMax signal detection

MILCOM 2008 - 2008 IEEE Military Communications Conference, 2008
In this paper, we consider the detection of WiMax signals under noise uncertainty. Based on the special feature - cyclic prefix embedded in WiMax signals, we propose an optimal Neyman-Pearson likelihood test for the signal detection. We have derived rigorously the probability distribution function of the corresponding decision statistics under ...

Signal Detection

2013
This volume is based on the 10th annual Harvard Symposium for the Quantitative Analysis of Behavior. The first Harvard Symposium was devoted to signal-detection analyses of reinforcement and choice behavior. The present volume reprises the original signal- detection theme, incorporating additional insights based on experimental and theoretical analyses
