Event based sampling occurs when the time instants are measured everytime the amplitude passes certain pre-defined levels. This is in contrast with classical signal processing where the amplitude is measured at regular time intervals.

ABSTRACT Background Kaposiform lymphangiomatosis (KLA) is an aggressive complex lymphatic anomaly. Patients exhibit malformed lymphatic vessels and often develop hemorrhagic effusions and elevated angiopoietin‐2 (Ang‐2) levels. A somatic NRAS p.Q61R (NRASQ61R) mutation has been associated with KLA.

ABSTRACT Introduction Pulmonary dysfunction and sleep abnormalities are common in children with sickle cell disease (SCD) and are associated with worse clinical outcomes. Whether spirometry abnormalities are associated with polysomnography (PSG) findings remains unclear.

Signal Reconstruction Using Determinantal Sampling
We study the approximation of a square-integrable function from a finite number of evaluations on a random set of nodes according to a well-chosen distribution. This is particularly relevant when the function is assumed to belong to a reproducing kernel Hilbert space (RKHS).

ABSTRACT Background Families of children with cancer experience significant financial strain, even with universal healthcare. Indirect costs, such as productivity losses and non‐medical expenses, are rarely included in economic evaluations, and little is known about how effectively financial aid programmes alleviate this burden. Childhood brain tumours

Data Driven Sampling of Oscillating Signals [PDF]
The reduction of the number of samples is a key issue in signal processing for mobile applications. We investigate the link between the smoothness properties of a signal and the number of samples that can be obtained through a level crossing sampling procedure.

Method and apparatus for telemetry adaptive bandwidth compression [PDF]
Methods and apparatus are provided for automatic and/or manual adaptive bandwidth compression of telemetry. An adaptive sampler samples a video signal from a scanning sensor and generates a sequence of sampled fields.

Wavelet-based estimation with multiple sampling rates
We suggest an adaptive sampling rule for obtaining information from noisy signals using wavelet methods. The technique involves increasing the sampling rate when relatively high-frequency terms are incorporated into the wavelet estimator, and decreasing ...

ABSTRACT Background The management of clinically apparent single lesions or oligofocal nephroblastomatosis, a facultative precursor of nephroblastoma, remains debated. Methods We retrospectively analyzed 37 patients with clinically apparent single or oligofocal nephroblastomatosis (two to three lesions per kidney) among 2347 patients registered between

Behavior of Formula for Spectrum of Sampled Signal when Sampling Period Tends to Zero [PDF]
This paper is devoted to consideration of behaviour of two formulas used in the literature to describe the spectra of sampled signals in the case of value of the sampling period going to zero. It is shown here that they do not lead to the same result, as
