Classification of Elbow Electormyography Signals based on Directed Transfer Functions
2008 International Conference on BioMedical Engineering and Informatics, 2008A new approach for classification of electromyography (EMG) of the flexion and extension signals is introduced here. Multivariate Autoregressive (MVAR) model has been applied to a two-channel set of EMG signals from the biceps and triceps muscles during flexion and extension positions of the elbow.

Transfer functions for UHF partial discharge signals in GIS
11th International Symposium on High-Voltage Engineering (ISH 99), 1999The principles of electromagnetic radiation by partial discharges (PD) in gas insulated substations (GIS) are described. Calculated transfer functions are presented, showing that transverse electric modes are predominant for radial PD currents in the coaxial geometry.

Calculation of playback signals from MFM images using transfer functions
Journal of Magnetism and Magnetic Materials, 1999Magnetic force microscopy has proven to be a suitable tool for analysis of high-density magnetic recording materials. Comparison of the MFM image of a written signal with the actual read-back signal of the recording system can give valuable insight in the recording properties of both heads and media.

Signal processors with transfer function coefficients determined by timing
IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems, 1982Signal processors are proposed which can be implemented using only delay elements, analog gates, an unweighted summer and a low-pass filter or integrator. It is shown that in some cases even the summer and the low-pass filter can be omitted. The transfer function coefficients depend on timing, and are independent of values or even value ratios of ...

Symbolic transfer functions for MESFET small-signal parameter extraction
IEE Proceedings G Circuits, Devices and Systems, 1991The paper describes a technique whereby directed graphs can be used to represent the interactions within an active microwave device, described by means of a lumped equivalent circuit. Analytical transfer functions representing the two-port scattering parameter matrix are evaluated.

Transfer function approach to signal discrimination of ULF geomagnetic data
Physics and Chemistry of the Earth, Parts A/B/C, 2004Abstract In order to study earthquake-related ULF geomagnetic field changes, it is important to discriminate the noises such as magnetic pulsations originated from solar–terrestrial interactions and artificial noises from DC-driven trains and factories.

Transfer-Functions Characterizing the Propagation of AE-Signals
1983In order to evaluate defects in AE-testing there are three basic problems: Firstly, we have to know relationships between the signal parameters from the AE-sources of different fracture mechanical processes. In the area of NDT the most important are plastic deformation and crack propagation.

Signal Flow Graphs for Getting Transfer Functions of Active Filters
IEEE Latin America Transactions, 2008A method to obtain transfer functions of active filters with a single operational amplifier is obtained. The method relies on signal-flow graphs and the theory of Mason which simplifies greatly the approach for getting the same goal but intimidating formulae.

Signal noise based transfer function approach for reliability estimation of ultrasonic inspection
Ultrasonics, 2019In recent years several methods for reducing the burden of experimentation for obtaining Probability of Detection (PoD) curves have been proposed, especially involving the use of numerical simulation. In particular, there is much interest in being able to estimate the PoD capabilities of a given NDE method, target embodiment and material, provided this

We present analytical expressions for the transfer function of periodically dispersion compensated optical links within intensity-modulated optical transmission systems. The accuracy of the proposed expressions is confirmed through the simulation based on the split-step Fourier method.
