Evaluation of bike boxes at signalized intersections
This paper presents a before-after study of bike boxes at 10 signalized intersections in Portland, Oregon. The bike boxes, also known as advanced stop lines or advanced stop boxes, were installed to increase visibility of cyclists and reduce conflicts between motor vehicles and cyclists, particularly in potential "right-hook" situations.

Proposed quick method for applying dynamic lane assignment at signalized intersections
Almost all researches about dynamic lane assignment were conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of applying this technique at signalized intersections. However, little attention was given to the method of identifying quickly the optimum lane group. This

Nanosecond pulse laser texturing yields superhydrophobic and superhydrophilic AA2024 surfaces. Salt‐spray tests show that periodic superhydrophobic patterns suppress pitting, whereas superhydrophilic textures enhance it, linking laser‐induced morphology, wettability, and oxide chemistry to corrosion resistance.

The saturation flow volume as a function of the intersection passing speed [PDF]
Different methods of calculating the saturation flow volume were examined. It was found that none of them considers the speed of vehicles passing through the intersection (intersection passing speed).

Adaptive Hydrogels With Spatiotemporal Stiffening Using pH‐Modulating Enzymes
The chemomechanical coupling in an adaptive hydrogel is studied to further the development of adaptive hydrogels. This coupling is achieved by embedding a pH‐modulating enzyme in a pH‐responsive hydrogel. The enzymatic reaction can be triggered locally, which generates a pH‐decreasing wave throughout the system, increasing the crosslinking density and ...
