Exploring pathways leading to drug‐resistant epilepsy for patients with cryptogenic new onset refractory status epilepticus

open access: yesEpilepsia, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective Cryptogenic new onset refractory status epilepticus (cNORSE) carries high risks of long‐term disability and post‐NORSE epilepsy, but mechanisms remain unclear. We aimed to assess the predictive value of inflammatory and brain injury biomarkers and determine whether immune disturbances persist in the chronic phase. Methods We enrolled

Inconsistent Transcriptomic Responses to Hexabromocyclododecane in Japanese Quail: A Comparative Analysis of Results From Four Different Study Designs

open access: yesEnvironmental Toxicology and Chemistry, EarlyView.
Abstract Efforts to use transcriptomics for toxicity testing have classically relied on the assumption that chemicals consistently produce characteristic transcriptomic signatures that are reflective of their mechanism of action. However, the degree to which transcriptomic responses are conserved across different test methodologies has seldom been ...

Registros recientes delgasterópodo exótico Rapana venosa (Valenciennes, 1846) a lo largode la línea costera Argentina: ¿Está progresandolainvasiónhaciaelsur? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014

Pourtant, l'analyse

Educational inequalities in cervical cancer mortality in the Baltic countries and Finland in the context of organized screening: A register‐based study 2000–2015

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, EarlyView.
What's New? This study shows that absolute and relative educational inequalities in cervical cancer mortality are much larger in the Baltic countries than in Finland, where an organized screening programme was introduced more than 40 years earlier. After the introduction of organized screening, cervical cancer mortality declined among low‐educated ...

Diagnostic Performance of Comprehensive Point‐of‐Care Ultrasound for Pediatric Tuberculosis in Spain: A Prospective Observational Study

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Ultrasound, EarlyView.
In children with presumptive tuberculosis, comprehensive point‐of‐care (cPOCUS) identified key thoracic abnormalities with high specificity and excellent inter‐reader reliability. Although diagnostic sensitivity was modest and examinations often incomplete, cPOCUS shows promise as a complementary, radiation‐free imaging tool.

What Do Latest CMIP6 Global Climate Models Say About Future Arctic Sea Ice Coverage Changes?

open access: yesInternational Journal of Climatology, EarlyView.
Modelling of sea ice dynamics has significantly improved between CMIP5 and CMIP6, with nearly three times as many models capturing realistic annual variability in sea ice extent (SIE). What we previously thought was a non‐linear pattern of low SIE observations in 2007–2010 that would continue throughout time now appears to be non‐record‐setting lows in

Contrasted habitat selection among Eurasian curlew populations according to landscape heterogeneity and breeding stage

open access: yesThe Journal of Wildlife Management, EarlyView.
This study aimed to quantify the spatio‐temporal use of breeding environments by the Eurasian curlew in 5 contrasting agricultural landscapes. To this end, 64 individuals were tagged with GPS devices to assess their space use according to their breeding stages and define their foraging habitat selection.

Long‐Range Exciton Energy Transfer in Two‐Dimensional Materials

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
This review highlights recent advances in long‐range exciton energy transfer within planar 2D‐material architectures. It emphasizes the emergence of self‐hybridized excitonpolaritons, exciton coupling to surface plasmon polaritons and plasmonic lattices, and the role of dipoledipole transfer pathways in enabling efficient nanoscale energy transport ...

Highly Versatile Real‐Time Optical Noise Filtering Through Temporal Cloaking

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
Conventional bandpass filtering strategies may be insufficient for recovering optical waveforms under extremely noisy conditions. We demonstrate a temporal‐cloaking denoising strategy enabled by the temporal Talbot effect, which concentrates the coherent signal of interest into short temporal slots while broadband noise remains temporally spread.
