Poincaré duality and signature for topological manifolds

open access: yesTopology and its Applications, 2008
AbstractThe signature of the Poincaré duality of compact topological manifolds with local system of coefficients can be described as a natural invariant of nondegenerate symmetric quadratic forms defined on a category of infinite dimensional linear spaces.

Topological signatures in CMB temperature anisotropy maps [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review D, 2005
We propose an alternative formalism to simulate CMB temperature maps in $ $CDM universes with nontrivial spatial topologies. This formalism avoids the need to explicitly compute the eigenmodes of the Laplacian operator in the spatial sections. Instead, the covariance matrix of the coefficients of the spherical harmonic decomposition of the temperature

Concurrent Interface Passivation and Contact Work Function Tuning in Organic Self‐Aligned Gate Transistors and Complementary Circuits Using Phosphonic Acid Self‐Assembled Monolayers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Self‐aligned gate transistors are developed with a single‐step dielectric passivation and fine‐tuning of source/drain electrode work function using phosphonic acid self‐assembled monolayers (SAM). This transistor architecture minimizes overlap capacitances and access resistance.

The signature package on Witt spaces, II. Higher signatures [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2009
This is a sequel to the paper "The signature package on Witt spaces, I. Index classes" by the same authors. In the first part we investigated, via a parametrix construction, the regularity properties of the signature operator on a stratified Witt pseudomanifold, proving, in particular, that one can define a K-homology signature class.

Metric-signature topological transitions in dispersive metamaterials [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review E, 2014
The metric signature topological transitions associated with the propagation of electromagnetic waves in a dispersive metamaterial with frequency-dependent and anisotropic dielectric and magnetic responses are examined in the present work. The components of the reciprocal-space metric tensor depend upon both the electric permittivity and magnetic ...

Topological Signature of 19th Century Novelists: Persistent Homology in Text Mining

open access: yesBig Data and Cognitive Computing, 2018
Topological Data Analysis (TDA) refers to a collection of methods that find the structure of shapes in data. Although recently, TDA methods have been used in many areas of data mining, it has not been widely applied to text mining tasks.
