Advancements in Understanding the Physicochemical Properties of Reticular Materials: An In Situ and Operando Spectroscopic Perspective

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This review explores how in situ and operando spectroscopic techniques reveal the real‐time behavior of reticular materials, including MOFs and COFs. These methods track material formation and functionalization, structural changes, defect formation, dynamic responses to external triggers, and catalytic processes.

Multi-target pharmacology: Possibilities and limitations of the skeleton key approach from a medicinal chemist perspective

open access: yesFrontiers in Pharmacology, 2015
Multi-target drugs have raised considerable interest in the last decade owing to their advantages in the treatment of complex diseases and health conditions linked to drug resistance issues.

Ultrafast Laser Synthesis of Zeolites

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The study presents a novel ultrafast laser‐driven synthesis technique for zeolites directly in liquid. Laser pulses create a microscopic reactor that controls reaction kinetics at femto‐ and picosecond timescales. Nonlinear light‐matter interactions drive nucleation and growth, allowing the process to be paused at any stage of self‐assembly.

On the signatures of torus knots [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2010
We study properties of the signature function of the torus knot $T_{p,q}$. First we provide a very elementary proof of the formula for the integral of the signatures over the circle. We obtain also a closed formula for the Tristram--Levine signature of a torus knot in terms of Dedekind sums.

Revisiting the “Stick‐Slip” Process via Magnetism‐Coupled Flexible Sensors with Bioinspired Ridge Architecture

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A sandwich‐like device for stick‐slip perception is developed, featuring a deformable bioinspired ridge layer with capability of lateral deformation and fast recovery. Coupled with magnetized functionality, the morphological transformation is capable to induce periodical electrical pulses which allows to revisit the stick‐slip process when human ...

Regulatory Role of Cell Division Rules on Tissue Growth Heterogeneity

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2012
The coordination of cell division and cell expansion are critical to normal development of tissues. In plants, cell wall mechanics and the there from arising cell shapes and mechanical stresses can regulate cell division and cell expansion and thereby ...

A signature formula for hyperelliptic broken Lefschetz fibrations [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2011
A hyperelliptic broken Lefschetz fibration is a generalization of a hyperelliptic Lefschetz fibration. We construct and compute a local signature of hyperelliptic directed broken Lefschetz fibrations by generalizing Endo's local signature of hyperelliptic Lefschetz fibrations. It is described by his local signature and a rational-valued homomorphism on

Intertwined Topological Phases in TaAs2 Nanowires with Giant Magnetoresistance and Quantum Coherent Surface Transport

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Synthesis of topological semimetal TaAs2 nanowires in situ encapsulated with a thin SiO2 shell unravel a richness of intertwined topological phases manifested by their magnetotransport features: A near‐room‐temperature metal‐to‐insulator transition, strong expressions of topologically nontrivial surface transport, giant magnetoresistance with direction‐

Topological phase transitions of generalized Brillouin zone

open access: yesCommunications Physics
It has been known that the bulk-boundary correspondence (BBC) of the non-Hermitian skin effect is characterized by the topology of the complex eigenvalue spectra, while the topology of the wave function gives rise to Hermitian BBC with conventional ...
