Spiro‐Phenothiazine Hole‐Transporting Materials: Unlocking Stability and Scalability in Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Fluorene‐functionalized spiro‐phenothiazine (PTZ‐Fl) exhibits strong Li+ affinity and thermal stability, enabling a PCE of 25.75% in small‐area cells and 22.07% in 25 cm2 modules. Under ISOS‐L3 conditions, PTZ‐Flbased devices retain over 80% efficiency after 1000 hours, demonstrating superior stability and scalability compared to spiro‐OMeTAD for next ...

Rapid Fabrication of Self‐Propelled and Steerable Magnetic Microcatheters for Precision Medicine

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A rapid Joule heating fabrication method for the production of self‐propelling, adaptive microcatheters, with tunable stiffness and integrated microfluidic channels is presented. Demonstrated through three microrobotic designs, including a steerable guiding catheter, an untethered wave‐crawling TubeBot, and a distal‐end propelled microcatheter, it was ...

Automated Machine Learning-Based Significant Wave Height Prediction for Marine Operations

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering
Determining/predicting the environment dominates a variety of marine operations, such as route planning and offshore installation. Significant wave height (Hs) is a critical parameter-defining wave, a dominating marine load.

Hybrid Deep Learning Model for Wave Height Prediction in Australia's Wave Energy Region

open access: yes
Waves are emerging as a renewable energy resource, but the harnessing of such energy remains among the least developed in terms of renewable energy technologies on a regional or a global basis. To generate usable energy, wave heights must be predicted in

Detection of changes in the characteristics of oceanographic time-series using changepoint analysis. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Changepoint analysis is used to detect changes in variability within GOMOS hindcast time-series for significant wave heights of storm peak events across the Gulf of Mexico for the period 1900–2005.

Resolving the Structural Duality of Graphene Grain Boundaries

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Cantilever ncAFM resolves the atomic structure of grain boundaries in graphene, revealing coexisting stable and metastable types. Both contain pentagon/heptagon defects, but metastable GBs show irregular geometries. Modeling shows metastable GBs form under compression, exhibiting vertical corrugation, while stable GBs are flat.

A Functional 2D Carbon Allotrope Combining Nanoporous Graphene and Biphenylene Segments

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The synthesis of a novel nanoporous graphene (NPG) is reported with biphenylene segments via thermal fusion of 12‐armchair porous graphene nanoribbons grown on gold surfaces. Characterization using STM, AFM, and DFT reveals low‐defect semiconducting behaviour and tunable band gaps.

Spatio-temporal modelling of significant wave height

open access: yes, 2007
In this paper, we construct a homogeneous spatio-temporal model to describe the variability of significant wave height over small regions of the sea and over short periods of time.
