Palatalization and labialization in the Chadic languages of Chad

open access: yesAfrika und Übersee
This paper examines verb data from five Chadic languages of Chad, in order to show the extent to which the prosodies of labialization (LAB) and palatalization (PAL) are relevant to the synchronic analysis of their phonologies.

Interleukin‐2 Deprived State of Regulatory T cells and Their Recovery by Low‐Dose Interleukin‐2 in Patients With Inflammatory Myopathies

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, EarlyView.
Objective Regeneration and expansion of Treg by low‐dose interleukin‐2 (IL‐2) therapy is considered a potential treatment strategy for a wide range of autoimmune diseases. To provide a pathophysiologically‐based rationale for low‐dose IL‐2 therapy, we investigated whether reversible defects in the Treg–IL‐2 axis emerge in inflammatory myopathies ...

Deep Immunophenotyping Reveals Distinct Immune Signatures in Axial Spondyloarthritis and Psoriatic Arthritis

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, EarlyView.
Objective Axial spondyloarthritis (axSpA) and psoriatic arthritis (PsA) are overlapping yet distinct conditions within the SpA spectrum. As divergent immunophenotypes may influence disease course and therapeutic response, we compared immune cell subsets, cytokine profiles, and inflammatory mediators.

Persistent Interleukin‐18 Fuels Expansion of CD38+HLA‐DR+CD8+ T Cells in Still Disease and Macrophage Activation Syndrome

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, EarlyView.
Objective Still disease (SD) is an autoinflammatory disorder characterized by remarkably high interleukin‐18 (IL‐18) levels. Increasing evidence suggests that adaptive immunity also contributes to its pathogenesis, particularly in refractory courses. Macrophage activation syndrome (MAS), one of SD's most severe complications, is associated with further

Two-part Negation in Yang Zhuang

open access: yesJournal of the Southeast Asian Linguistics Society, 2019
The negation system of Yang Zhuang includes two standard negators and an aspectual negator, all of which occur before the verb; the negator meiz nearly always co-occurs with a clause-final particle nauq, which can also stand as a single-word negative ...

Extracellular Vesicles‐Based Biological Macromolecule Delivery Systems: Biogenesis, Characterization, and Emerging Clinical Applications

open access: yesBiotechnology and Bioengineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are nanoscale membrane‐bound structures that play a pivotal role in intercellular communication by transporting bioactive molecules, including proteins, lipids, nucleic acids, and organelles, between cells. Originating from the endosomal pathway, EVs reflect the physiological and pathological status of their parent

Notes on Northern Katang Kinship and Society

open access: yesJournal of the Southeast Asian Linguistics Society, 2017
The patrilineal clan system is still very strong in Katang society in southern Laos. This affects how a person relates to and addresses both his father's and mother's kin groups. It also is important in choosing a marriage partner.

Embedding a Dinuclear Ru─Pt Photocatalyst Into Polyampholytic Graft Copolymer Matrix Enables Prolonged Hydrogen Evolution While Allowing Catalyst Repair

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
A unimolecular polyampholytic graft copolymer matrix provides a protective confinement for an electrostatically embedded tetrapyridophenazine‐bridged heterodinuclear Ru‐Pt hydrogen evolving photocatalyst. The matrix slows the degradation kinetics of the catalyst and at the same time does not hinder its repair by ammonium persulfate.
