ErB4 and NdB4 nanostructured powders are produced by mechanochemical synthesis. 5 h mechanical alloying and 4 M HCl acid leaching are used in the production. ErB4 and NdB4 powders exhibit maximum magnetization of 0.4726 emu g−1 accompanied with an antiferromagnetic‐to‐paramagnetic phase transition at about TN = 18 K and 0.132 emu g−1 with a maximum at ...

Heterologous Proteins Production in Escherichia coli: An Investigation on the Effect of Codon Usage and Expression Host Optimization [PDF]
Objective: The production of heterologous proteins in Escherichia coli is strongly affectedby codon bias. This phenomenon occurs when the codon usage of mRNA coding for theforeign protein differs from that of the bacterium.

Powder metal processing provides scalable advantages in nanoporous (np) metal development. Mechanical alloying is used to produce unique precursors for hybrid nanopore formation by oxide reduction and dealloying. As demonstrated in np Ag, this approach improves process efficiency while promoting smaller ligaments and larger pores, both of which are ...

Predicting pauses in L1 and L2 speech: the effects of utterance boundaries and word frequency
This paper compares the distribution of silent and filled pauses in first (L1) and second language (L2) speech. The occurrence of pauses of 52 L2 and 18 L1 Dutch speakers was evaluated with respect to utterance boundaries and word frequency.

On the Multifunctionality and Multimodality of Silent Pauses in Native and Non-native Interactions
International audienceThis paper explores the multifunctional uses of silent pauses, adopting a multimodal perspective. Pauses are said to serve numerous functions in speech, and this small comparative study looks at their distribution across L1 and L2 ...

The corrosion performance of AlSi7Mg and AlSi10Mg alloys produced through selective laser melting (SLM) was examined under compressive stress in a chloride environment. Electrochemical analyses, including open‐circuit potential (OCP), potentiodynamic polarization (CPP), and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), were complemented by scanning ...
