Louse Flies on the Fly: Host Macroecology Shapes Interspecific Variation in Ectoparasite Prevalence Among Migrating Birds

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 6, June 2026.
We analysed over 100,000 migrating birds from 157 species to identify macroecological drivers of interspecific variation in louse fly prevalence. Using phylogenetically informed Bayesian models, we show that host morphology, ecology and biogeographic traits shape infection patterns, with Ornithomya avicularia and O.

JURASSIC PALEOGEOGRAPHY OF THE PIENINY AND OUTER CARPATHIAN BASINS

open access: yesRivista Italiana di Paleontologia e Stratigrafia, 2004
The Jurassic history of the Pieniny/Outer Carpathian basins reflects the evolution of the Circum-Tethyan area, especially its Alpine Tethys part. The Alpine Tethys that is Ligurian, Penninic Oceans and Pieniny/Magura Basin constitute the extension of the

Two‐Stage Isothermal Transformation of Austenite into Nanobainite in a Chemically Inhomogeneous Medium‐Alloy Steel Containing 0.5 wt% C

open access: yessteel research international, Volume 97, Issue 6, Page 3308-3327, June 2026.
The effect of chemical inhomogeneity on the microstructure and properties of nanobainitic steel is investigated. A two‐stage isothermal heat treatment that produced a more uniform microstructure is designed. The first‐stage temperature is higher than the MS of depleted bands; conversely, the second‐stage temperature is lower than the first‐stage ...
