Silicate Urolithiasis

Journal of Urology, 1984
Urinary tract silicate calculi are rare. Occurrence is limited strictly to patients who ingest magnesium trisilicate antacids. We report a case of a renal silicate calculus and review the subject of silicate stones.

Magnesium Silicate

2011
A comprehensive profile of magnesium silicate with 80 references is reported. A full description including nomenclature, formulae, and appearance is included. Methods for magnesium silicate preparation including precipitation, hydrothermal precipitation, and mechanochemical dehydration are reviewed. Physical characteristics, compendia and non-compendia

Aqueous Silicic Acid, Silicates and Silicate Complexes

1978
The paper aims at giving a brief review of the aqueous chemistry of silicic acid, silicates and silicate complexes. In particular, problems concerning equilibria and structures are discussed. In addition geochemical data of silicon and silicon distribution on the earth crust will be briefly presented.

Circumstellar Silicate Mineralogy

Astrophysics and Space Science, 1997
This paper reviews spectra obtained with the SWS on board of ISO of dust shells around O-rich objects. These spectra reveal the presence of many new emission features between 10 and 45 µm. These bands are generally much narrower than the well-known 10 and 20 µm silicates features.

Monoclinic Thorium Silicate

Nature, 1950
THE name ‘huttonite’ is proposed for a newly recognized monoclinic mineral of the composition ThSiO4. It has been isolated in minute grains from beach sand of South Westland, New Zealand, by Prof. C. Osborne Hutton, of Stanford University. Its optical properties are: α= 1.898, β= 1.900, γ = 1.922; dispersion ρ > γ, moderate; 2V = 25° (measured); Y || b,
