Viscosity of liquid silica, silicates and alumino-silicates
Geochimica et Cosmochimica Acta, 1982Viscosity measurements are reported for amorphous silica and liquids belonging to the systems SiO2-M, SiO2-Al2O3-M, where M is an alkali-earth metal oxide, MnO, or alumina, and the systems SiO2-“FeO”, SiO2-FeO-Fe2O3-CaO, and SiO2-Al2O3-N, where N = Na2O or K2O.

Aqueous Silicic Acid, Silicates and Silicate Complexes
1978The paper aims at giving a brief review of the aqueous chemistry of silicic acid, silicates and silicate complexes. In particular, problems concerning equilibria and structures are discussed. In addition geochemical data of silicon and silicon distribution on the earth crust will be briefly presented.

Derivatives of silicic acids as model compounds for silicates
Physics and Chemistry of Minerals, 1988Silicon-29 chemical shifts of methyl, ethyl, chloro and trimethylsilyl derivatives of silicic acids are compared to those of silicic acid anions found in aqueous solutions. Although the chemical shifts of the silicate anions vary with pH and concentration, a good correlation is obtained for the chloro and alkoxi derivatives.

Preparation of silicate stalagmite from sodium silicate
Journal of Alloys and Compounds, 2009Abstract Silicate stalagmites were prepared by a novel approach using sodium silicate as the silica source. Through the reaction of calcium carbonate (CaCO 3 ) with aluminum chloride solution, the produced CO 2 gas acted as both reactant and transport gas to carry aluminum ions (Al 3+ ).

Circumstellar Silicate Mineralogy
Astrophysics and Space Science, 1997This paper reviews spectra obtained with the SWS on board of ISO of dust shells around O-rich objects. These spectra reveal the presence of many new emission features between 10 and 45 µm. These bands are generally much narrower than the well-known 10 and 20 µm silicates features.

Disperse Layered Silicates in Magnesium Silicate Rocks
Glass Physics and Chemistry, 2004This paper reports on the results of experimental investigations aimed at improving the methods and optimizing the physicochemical parameters of the processes of preparing disperse fluorotetrasilicic mica (Na-fluorotetrasilicic mica, Na-fluorotaeniolite) from magnesium silicate rocks (serpentinite, dunite) under pyrogenic conditions from melts.

DEFORMATION STUDIES OF SILICATES AND ALUMINUM SILICATES OF THE ALKALIES
Journal of the American Ceramic Society, 1923ABSTRACTThe following investigation includes studies of the two ternary systems K2O2‐Al2O3‐SiO2 and Na2O‐Al2O2‐SiO2.In each system two areas of low fusibility were found; one including members high in alkali, low in silica, and low in alumina; the other including those high in silica, low in alkali, and low in alumina.

Bulletin of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR Division of Chemical Science, 1967
Using a new rapid method, K2O, Na2O, CaO, MgO, Al2O3, and Fe2O3 were determined in silicates according to a single procedure, from a single sample.

Nomenclature and Structural Formulae of Silicate Anions and Silicates
1985The nomenclature of silicate minerals is in a state of great confusion. Over hundreds of years the rules, if there were any, have never resulted in a systematic nomenclature like that applying to chemical substances. This is in spite of considerable effort by the responsible commissions of the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC ...
