Synthesis of kaolin-based alkali-activated cement: carbon footprint, cost and energy assessment
The main purpose of the work reported herein is to use kaolin to produce one-part alkali-activated cement. Thermal activation was performed on kaolin in the presence of alkalis (calcium oxide, sodium silicate, and sodium carbonate).

Solidification/stabilisation of soil contaminated with metal: a review [PDF]
Solidification/stabilisation (S/S) is generically defined as a chemical and physical alteration technique of reducing the mobility as well as solubility of contaminants in wastes in order to convert them into chemically inert form.

Resolution enhancement of 1H NMR shifts in K‐struvite and newberyite via partial deuteration
Abstract We present a magic‐angle spinning nuclear magnetic resonance (MAS NMR) study of K‐struvite (MgKPO4·6H2O) and newberyite (MgHPO4·3H2O), two phosphate compounds that are found in hydrated magnesium potassium phosphate (MKP) cements, which are currently receiving a special care in literature as environmental sustainable construction materials. We

Abstract Alkali‐activated materials are low‐CO2 alternative binders, but the alkali‐activator component contributes significantly to the CO2 emissions, costs, and safety risks. This study explores the potential of partially replacing NaOH with highly concentrated salt waters as an activator for blast furnace slag and related chemical mechanisms.
