Cement Industry and Silicate and Rock Chemistry
1972X-ray fluorescence analysis is applied in the cement industry to quantitative analysis of major and minor components of raw materials and of cement. The elements Mg, Al, Si, Ca, and Fe may be determined directly in finely ground powders. Better accuracies are obtained, however, when the samples are first decomposed with sodium borate or lithium borate.
