STUDY ON SILICIC-BORIC ACID COMBINATION AGAINST WOOD DECAYING FUNGI IN PLYWOOD [PDF]

open access: yesPro Ligno, 2016
Plywood as engineered wood product is used for a number of structural and non structural application s for both interior and exterior uses. The exterior exposure creates the conditions for fungi and insects attack, which lead to the early failure of ...

Testing the Limits of Provenance Analysis From Basaltic Fluvial Sediment Near Sandvatn, Iceland, as a Mars Analog

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Planets, Volume 131, Issue 4, April 2026.
Abstract Detrital sediments that accumulate downstream and are preserved in sedimentary rocks can allow characterization of geologic formations that are inaccessible for spatial or temporal reasons. However, mixing, sorting, and alteration of sediment during transport may complicate reconstruction of protolith characteristics.

Development of a Mesoscale‐ and Tide‐Resolving Ocean–Biogeochemistry Model for the Pacific: Tidal Enhancement of the Biological Carbon Pump

open access: yesJournal of Advances in Modeling Earth Systems, Volume 18, Issue 4, April 2026.
Abstract This study presents a new physical‐biogeochemical simulation of the Pacific Ocean that resolves mesoscale dynamics and explicitly includes tidal forcing. The primary objective is to develop and document a modeling framework that serves both as a detailed record of model configuration and forcing preparation, and as a reference for future ...

Teleseismic Radial Anisotropy Reveals a Sill‐Dominated Magma Reservoir Beneath the Valles Caldera, New Mexico

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 6, 28 March 2026.
Abstract The Valles Caldera (VC), one of the largest Quaternary silicic calderas in North America, formed by explosive rhyolitic eruptions. Seismic studies suggest a crustal magmatic reservoir beneath the caldera with low‐velocity anomalies, but resolving the detailed geometry of localized melt requires constraints from seismic anisotropy.

A Thorough Search for Elusive Lunar Granophyres [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Recent remote sensing studies [e.g., 1-3] indicate that several un-sampled regions of the Moon have significantly higher concentrations of silicic material (also high in [K], [U], and [Th]) than sampled regions.

episodic onset of explosive and silicic-dominated volcanism in a continental rift; insights from the Permian Oslo Rift, Norway

open access: yesVolcanica
The nature of rifting episodes and their associated volcanism mark key stratigraphic events in the evolution of volcano-sedimentary basins. Following the final assemblage of Pangea, the European region was subject to rifting and magmatism during crustal ...
