Thermal Processing Creates Water‐Stable PEDOT:PSS Films for Bioelectronics
Instead of using chemical cross–linkers, it is shown that PEDOT:PSS thin films for bioelectronics become water‐stable after a simple heat treatment. The heat treatment is compatible with a range of rigid and elastomeric substrates and films are stable in vivo for >20 days.

Microarchitecture sculpting via phase separation programs hydrogel mechanics by creating globular, inverse globular, and spinodal structures. Spinodal architectures deliver superior toughness and energy dissipation, while ionic modulation through single polymer phase separation offers a simple, scalable route to tune mechanical properties ...

Thin Film Formation During Splashing of Viscous Liquids
After impact onto a smooth dry surface, a drop of viscous liquid initially spreads in the form of a thick lamella. If the drop splashes, it first emits a thin fluid sheet that can ultimately break up into droplets causing the splash.

Electrical aging of silicone oil
In view of its widespread use in cable terminations, new results pertaining to electrical aging (i.e. exposure to repeated electrical discharge events) of silicone oil are reported. A new piece of equipment allowed the discharge characteristics to be controlled and the resulting blackening was correlated to the change in dielectric properties.

COFs on MOFs: Layer‐by‐Layer Synthesis of MOF@COF Nanoparticles with Synergistic Adsorption
A layer‐by‐layer strategy enables the growth of crystalline covalent organic framework (COF) shells on metal–organic framework nanoparticles, creating core–shell structures with tunable porosity. Ordered interstitial mesopores are formed during shell growth, which are connected with the COF's intrinsic micropores, thereby enhancing water sorption. This

Reuse of discarded deactivated bleaching earth in the bleaching of oils
Discarded bleaching earth was used after its reactivation for the bleaching of sunflower, soybean and corn oils. The efficiency of reactivated bleaching earth was compared to the efficiency of virgin activated bleaching earth.

Decoupling Dynamics and Crosslink Stability in Supramolecular Hydrogels Using Associative Exchange
How does reorganization impact the stability of supramolecular hydrogels? In contrast to dissociative crosslink exchange, implementing associative exchange in macroscale DNA hydrogels enables decoupling of reorganization dynamics from thermal and mechanical stability.

Observation of lyotropic chromonic liquid crystals droplets with the perpendicular boundary condition [PDF]
Department of PhysicsControlling anchoring conditions of liquid crystals (LCs) is crucial for the study of liquid crystals and development of liquid crystals-based displays and sensors. Although many studies have been made on thermotropic liquid crystals,

Erosion dynamics of a wet granular medium
Liquid may give strong cohesion properties to a granular medium, and confer a solid-like behavior. We study the erosion of a fixed circular aggregate of wet granular matter subjected to a flow of dry grains inside a half-filled rotating drum.
