Therapeutic silicone rubber lenses
Journal of The British Contact Lens Association, 1984The therapeutic use of silicone rubber lenses was first described by Davis and Woodward in 1978. The advantages of this material as compared with hydrogels were summarized as: 1. Higher oxygen permeability. 2. Hydration unnecessary to maintain lens form. 3. Higher tensile strength and penetration resistance. 4.

Silicone Rubber Latex Sealants
1992Silicone rubber latex is an aqueous dispersion of silicone rubber particles that forms elastomers upon evaporation of water. Silicone rubber latex is formulated into sealants by incorporating fillers, pigmnets and other additives. Silicone rubber latex is prepared by crosslinking emulsions of poly(dimethylsiloxane) using a tin catalyst.
