Nonlinear dynamic properties of silty clay from Warsaw area

open access: yesAnnals of Warsaw University of Life Sciences – SGGW. Land Reclamation, 2016
Abstract In this work, the small-strain and nonlinear dynamic properties of silty clay samples were studied by means of the low- and high-amplitude resonant column (RC) tests at various mean effective stresses (p’). The tested specimens were collected from the centre of Warsaw, district Śródmieście.

Early deglaciation history of the southeastern Baffin Island shelf (Eastern Canadian Arctic Archipelago)

open access: yesJournal of Quaternary Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT During the last glacial period, the Laurentide Ice Sheet (LIS) was the largest terrestrial ice sheet on Earth. Its evolution since the Last Glacial Maximum profoundly influenced Earth's geodynamics and surface processes. Investigating the past dynamics of the LIS provides critical insights into how contemporary ice sheets may respond to ...

Nitrogen rates shaping rice yield and groundwater nitrate in the Jamuna River basin of north central Bangladesh

open access: yesJSFA reports, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Understanding how varying nitrogen fertilizer rates influence both rice productivity and groundwater nitrate contamination is critical for ensuring sustainable crop production and environmental protection in the Jamuna River Basin of north‐central Bangladesh.

Effect of bio‐fertilization and edapho‐climatic conditions on chickpea nodulation, grain yields, and seed protein in a Mediterranean context: a meta‐analysis approach

open access: yesJournal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, EarlyView.
Abstract Chickpeas (Cicer arietinum L.) serve as a protein‐rich staple, particularly in Mediterranean countries, where they are often grown in marginal and water‐stressed areas. This meta‐analysis synthesized evidence from peer‐reviewed publications across Mediterranean countries to assess how chickpea rhizobial inoculation influences chickpea ...

Population dynamics, survival, and movements of Texas tortoises in a national park in southern Texas

open access: yesThe Journal of Wildlife Management, EarlyView.
Texas tortoise abundance in a small national park in South Texas, USA, declined by >25%, from an estimated 273 tortoises in 2014 to 204 tortoises in 2024. The severity of the decline varied across survey units, but abundance remained highest in areas having greater canopy cover and experiencing less invasion by Guinea grass.

Centrifugal model tests on micro-pile-reinforced shallow foundation in layered soils

open access: yesYantu gongcheng xuebao
The centrifugal model tests are conducted on the micro-pile-reinforced and unreinforced shallow foundations buried in complex formation during vertical loading. The deformations of soil base and the foundation are observed and compared for the micro-pile

Enhancing Soil Aggregation and Water Retention by Applying Kaolinite Clay to Post‐Tin‐Mined Land on Belitung Island, Indonesia

open access: yesLand Degradation &Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Post‐mining sandy soils have low water retention, which causes soil particle separation and persistent soil erosion. Although organic matter is commonly used for soil restoration, it is lightweight, washes away during heavy rain, and decomposes under strong sunlight.

Changes of yield responses and soil test values in Finnish soils in relation to cumulative phosphorus and potassium balances [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Field experiments with five rates of annual P fertilisation were carried out at 24 sites in Finland 1977-1994. A summary of the yield results was calculated on the basis of the amounts of P recommended to cereals according to STP in early 1990s.
