Effect of particle rolling resistance on drained and undrained behaviour of silty sand
Published: 04 January 2021This paper explores the effect of particle rolling resistance on the mechanical behaviour of silty sand under various shearing conditions. The elastic–plastic spring–dashpot rolling resistance model was employed, and drained and

The addition of Na2CO3 or K2CO3 to sewage sludge prior to combustion leads to the production of ashes containing phosphate in the form of buchwaldite‐like phases (Ca(Na/K)PO4). Compared to conventional sewage sludge mono‐ashes, such Na‐ or K‐ashes show greatly increased P‐solubilities and proved to be potent P‐fertiliser materials in greenhouse ...

Shear strength of an unsaturated silty sand [PDF]
This paper presents a series of direct shear tests performed on a silty sand at three different gravimetric water contents. The soil was sampled from test pits south of Ruedlingen in North East Switzerland, where a landslide triggering experiment was carried out on a 37°-40° steep forested slope through infiltration of extreme artificial rainfall.

This study demonstrates the feasibility of an underground closed‐loop thermal storage facility at a post‐mining site, intended for seasonal heat energy storage. Its principal design shows water flow directions in winter and summer (1, 2), heat pumps (3), an upper water reservoir (4), and connecting pipes (5).
