The sublethal impacts of five insecticidal formulations on Oryzaephilus surinamensis behavioral traits

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 80, Issue 10, Page 5334-5341, October 2024.
Deltamethrin, α‐cypermethrin, and λ‐cyhalothrin provided high toxicity to Oryzaephilus surinamensis. λ‐Cyhalothrin and deltamethrin extended stop times; α‐cypermethrin reduced walks and increased climbing attempts. Insecticides did not affect the interval spent on food. Abstract BACKGROUND Mortality caused by various pyrethroids, and neonicotinoids has

Patterns of aerial arthropod biomass and diversity from three regions of boreal Alaska

open access: yesInsect Conservation and Diversity, Volume 17, Issue 5, Page 826-855, September 2024.
We documented aerial arthropod biomass and diversity over 4 years in three regions in boreal Alaska—two in central Alaska and one in southcentral Alaska. Traps yielded 115,078 specimens of 15 orders and 692 unique taxa. Mean aerial arthropod biomass was more than three times higher in Fairbanks than in Anchorage.

Age of Eucalyptus plantations differentially affects assemblages of surface‐active arthropods

open access: yesAfrican Journal of Ecology, Volume 62, Issue 1, January 2024.
Abstract Microhabitats and environmental conditions in eucalypts vary depending on the growth phase. Response of surface‐active arthropods to eucalypt growth phases is unclear; yet, it can be an important contribution in forest management. Thus, we investigated the response of surface‐active arthropods to three eucalypt age groups.

Insecticidal and biochemical effect of some dried plants against Oryzaephilus surinamensis (Coleoptera-Silvanidae)

open access: yesJournal of Basic and Applied Zoology, 2012
Dry powders of three plants, namely ginger (Zingiber afficinale), hail (Elettaria cardamomum) and shammar (Foeniculum vulgare) were tested, for their toxicity, against the adult beetle Oryzaephilus surinamensis, as date pest threatens the date product in
