Dithiocarbamate-Capped Silver Nanoparticles
The Journal of Physical Chemistry B, 2006Nanometer-sized silver particles were synthesized by using didecylamine dithiocarbamates as the protecting ligands. With control of the initial ligand-metal feed ratios, the core diameter of the resulting particles was found to vary from about 5 to 2.5 nm, as determined by transmission electron microscopic measurements.

Solvent-Adaptable Silver Nanoparticles
Langmuir, 2005A simple and efficient way of obtaining silver nanoparticles that are dispersible both in organic and in aqueous solvents using a single capping agent is described. The silver nanoparticles are initially prepared in water in the presence of aerosol OT [sodium bis(2-ethylhexyl)-sulfosuccinate, AOT].

Bioreduction mechanism of silver nanoparticles
Materials Science and Engineering: C, 2020The studies represent in-depth investigations of bacteria mediated reduction mechanism of silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) not reported so far. Ag NPs were successfully synthesized by Bacillus subtilis spizizenni (NCIM 2063), and their bioreduction mechanism has been explored in detail.

Antimicrobial effects of silver nanoparticles
Nanomedicine: Nanotechnology, Biology and Medicine, 2007The antimicrobial effects of silver (Ag) ion or salts are well known, but the effects of Ag nanoparticles on microorganisms and antimicrobial mechanism have not been revealed clearly. Stable Ag nanoparticles were prepared and their shape and size distribution characterized by particle characterizer and transmission electron microscopic study.

Antiangiogenic properties of silver nanoparticles
Biomaterials, 2009Angiogenesis is an important phenomenon involved in normal growth and wound healing processes. An imbalance of the growth factors involved in this process, however, causes the acceleration of several diseases including malignant, ocular, and inflammatory diseases.

Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) have garnered attention as an effective solution for anti-microbial food packaging. Agri-food waste should be viewed as a source of valuable products, paving the way for a zero-waste economy. With special qualities that may greatly improve the quality and safety of packaged food items, this chapter examines the various ways

The bactericidal effect of silver nanoparticles
Nanotechnology, 2005Nanotechnology is expected to open new avenues to fight and prevent disease using atomic scale tailoring of materials. Among the most promising nanomaterials with antibacterial properties are metallic nanoparticles, which exhibit increased chemical activity due to their large surface to volume ratios and crystallographic surface structure. The study of

Silver nanoparticles functionalized with ampicillin
ELECTROPHORESIS, 2017AbstractThe resistance of pathogenic bacteria to antibiotics has become a serious problem. The emphasis is placed on the development of new, effective antimicrobial strategies. One of them is the use of AgNPs in association with antibiotic drugs. The aim of this study was to obtain silver nanoparticles functionalized with ampicillin and to investigate ...
