Quantized conductance observed during sintering of silver nanoparticles by intense terahertz pulses [PDF]

open access: yesApplied Physics Letters, vol. 112, no. 16, p. 163102 (2018), 2018
We show that silver nanoparticles, which are deposited on a terahertz-receiving antenna, can be sintered by intense terahertz pulse irradiation. The conductance of the silver nanoparticles between the antenna electrodes is measured under the terahertz pulse irradiation.

Pharmaceutical aspects of silver nanoparticles [PDF]

open access: yesArtificial Cells, Nanomedicine, and Biotechnology, 2017
Silver nanoparticles are particles in the size ranging between 1 and 100 nm. The two major methods used for synthesis of silver nanoparticle are the physical and chemical methods with the disadvantage that they are expensive and can also have toxicity. Biological method is being used as an expedient alternative, as this approach is environment-friendly

Nanoparticle‐Coated X2CrNiMo17‐12‐2 Powder for Additive Manufacturing – Part I: Surface, Flowability, and Optical Properties of SiC, Si, and Si3N4 Coated Metal Powders

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Herein, silicon‐based nanoparticle coatings on X2CrNiMo17‐12‐2 metal powder are presented. The coating process scale, process parameters, nanoparticle size (65–200 nm) as well as the coating amount are discussed regarding powder properties. The surface roughness affects the flowability, while reflectance depends on the coating material and surface ...

Rational Engineering of Nanostructured AgM (M = Au, Pt, Pd) Bimetallic Electrodes via Galvanic Replacement for Glycerol Electrolysis

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates the feasibility of fabricating free‐standing carbon paper electrodes by electroplating and galvanic replacement. Nanostructured AgM (M = Au, Pt, Pd) bimetallic catalysts are directly grown on the electrode substrate, which exhibit good performance for glycerol electrolysis, a sustainable approach for the co‐production of green ...
