Quantification of sakuranetin in paddy leaves and stem after elicitation with abiotic elicitors (UV, AgNO3, CuSO4) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Phytoalexins are substances produced in appreciable amounts in plants only after stimulation of various biotic or abiotic agents. Sakuranetin was extracted from paddy leaves and stem after elicitated by silver nitrate, cuprum (II) sulfate and UV ...

In situ synthesis of size-controlled, stable silver nanoparticles within ultrashort peptide hydrogels and their anti-bacterial properties [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We have developed a silver-releasing biomaterial with promising potential for wound healing applications. The material is made of ultrashort peptides which can self-assemble in water to form hydrogels.

Ideal Molecular Sieving with a Dense MOF for Helium Upgrading with Highly Diffusion Selective Mixed Matrix Membranes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The separation of Helium gas from natural gas is challenging but highly important. MIL‐116(Ga), a “non‐porous” metal–organic framework is used as a molecular sieve to separate He from CH4. Druse‐like MIL‐116(Ga) particles are integrated into polysulfone mixed matrix membranes.

Toward a greener approach to detect inorganic arsenic using the Gutzeit method and X‐ray fluorescence spectroscopy

open access: yesAnalytical Science Advances, 2022
Inorganic arsenic is a carcinogen repeatedly found in water and foods threatening global human health. Prior work applied the Gutzeit method and X‐ray fluorescence spectroscopy to quantify inorganic arsenic based on a harmful chemical, i.e., mercury ...

Chiral Heterocyclic Ligands. XI. Self-assembly and X-Ray Crystal Structures of Chiral Silver Coordination Polymers of (S)-(-)-Nicotine [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
Three chiral coordination polymers have been prepared by reaction of (S)-(-)-nicotine with silver(I) salts. X-Ray crystal structure determinations revealed that these all contain polymer chains in which the nicotine molecule acts as a bridging ligand ...

Ferrocene Derivatives Enable Ultrasensitive Perovskite Photodetectors with Enhanced Reverse Bias Stability

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Novel ferrocene derivatives (e.g., FcPhc2) are used as an ultrathin layer hole‐blocking layer, reducing hole injection from the Ag contact. This results in an ultralow noise spectral density of 1.2 × 10−14 A Hz−1/2, and a high specific detectivity of 8.1 × 1012 Jones at −0.5 V.

Silver(I) Complexes of the Pharmaceutical Agents Metronidazole and 4-Hydroxymethylpyridine: Comparison of Cytotoxic Profile for Potential Clinical Application

open access: yesMolecules, 2019
In previous papers, we have reported on the high antifungal and significant antibacterial activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria of the water-soluble silver(I) complexes of metronidazole and derivatives of pyridine compared to silver ...
