Antimicrobial effect of silver‐doped phosphate‐based glasses
Journal of Biomedical Materials Research Part A, 2006AbstractIn this study a range of phosphate‐based glasses (PBG) doped with silver have been investigated for their antimicrobial activities. In disk diffusion assays, these compositions demonstrated microbistatic effects against a range of organisms including Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Bacillus cereus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, methicillin ...

The chemical composition, structure, and properties of an H3PO4-promoted polycrystalline silver foil are studied by XPS. The surface of the doped sample contains oxygen in two states with binding energies of 531.1 and 533.0 eV. Heat treatment results in silver clusters distributed in the polyphosphate matrix.

The antimicrobial activity of as-prepared silver-loaded phosphate glasses and zirconium phosphate
Korean Journal of Chemical Engineering, 2015The antimicrobial activities of silver-loaded zirconium phosphate (JDG) and silver-loaded phosphate glasses (ZZB) against Escherichia coli were studied. Although the silver content in JDG was higher than that in ZZB, ZZB suspensions showed better antimicrobial property than JDG suspensions, especially at low concentrations.
