Navaho Urban Silversmiths

While gathering data for a reservation-urban migration study of Navahos living in Albuquerque, New Mexico, during the period of July, 1959, through June 1961, I was impressed by the fact that silversmithing was the single occupation followed with greatest frequency by resident Navahos. Thirty-two Navahos were earning their living in this manner.
