A Workflow to Accelerate Microstructure‐Sensitive Fatigue Life Predictions
This study introduces a workflow to accelerate predictions of microstructure‐sensitive fatigue life. Results from frameworks with varying levels of simplification are benchmarked against published reference results. The analysis reveals a trade‐off between accuracy and model complexity, offering researchers a practical guide for selecting the optimal ...

Measures of Distributional Similarity
We study distributional similarity measures for the purpose of improving probability estimation for unseen cooccurrences. Our contributions are three-fold: an empirical comparison of a broad range of measures; a classification of similarity functions ...

Sustainability assessment requires methodologies that appropriately distinguish between additive and non‐additive material properties. A toxicity‐weighted scoring system is developed and applied that accounts for the disproportionate influence of highly toxic constituents through nonlinear weighting functions, providing more realistic estimates than ...

Various distance and similarity measures have been proposed for hesitant fuzzy sets (HFSs) in the literature. However, some of these approaches are either inadequate or fail to produce reliable results for different scenarios. In this paper, we introduce

Near‐surface deuterium enrichment profiles for different microstructural types of TiAl after exposure at 700 °C in a heavy water‐containing environment. The deuterium levels are significantly higher than expected from natural occurrence, indicating that the heavy water dissociated during the exposure treatment and entered the specimens.

More than 10 000 metal‐coated silicon MEMS cantilevers are fabricated and characterized to build a large‐scale experimental dataset spanning multiple vibrational modes. Machine learning algorithms are benchmarked to predict resonance frequency and quality factor, with ensemble based models achieving accuracy approaching experimental uncertainty.

The influence of Fe particle size on in situ alloying of Fe–SiC powder blends in PBF‐LB/M is revealed. Contrary to expectations, the coarser Fe fraction provides a broader crack‐free processing window and slightly improved elemental homogeneity while producing higher but more variable hardness. The results highlight a complex trade‐off between particle
