Molecular and functional profiling unravels targetable vulnerabilities in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We used whole exome and RNA‐sequencing to profile divergent genomic and transcriptomic landscapes of microsatellite stable (MSS) and microsatellite instable (MSI) colorectal cancer. Alterations were classified using a computational score for integrative cancer variant annotation and prioritization.

Recognition of M × M by Its Complex Group Algebra Where M Is a Simple K3-Group

open access: yesMathematics, 2018
In this paper we prove that if M is a simple K3-group, then M×M is uniquely determined by its order and some information on irreducible character degrees and as a consequence of our results we show that M×M is uniquely determined by the ...

On Thompson's conjecture for finite simple groups [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2018
Let $G$ be a finite group, $N(G)$ be the set of conjugacy classes of the group $G$. In the present paper it is proved $G\simeq L$ if $N(G)=N(L)$, where $G$ is a finite group with trivial center and $L$ is a finite simple group.

Targeting PRAME directly or via EZH2 inhibition overcomes retinoid resistance and represents a novel therapy for keratinocyte carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The study evaluated the function and therapeutic implications of PRAME in basal cell carcinoma (BCC) and squamous cell carcinoma (SCC). The findings demonstrate that PRAME impairs keratinocyte differentiation pathways. Furthermore, PRAME impairs anticancer response to retinoid compounds in BCC and SCC cells.

On the problem of classifying simple compact quantum groups [PDF]

open access: yesBanach Center Publ.98 (2012), 433-453, 2013
We review the notion of simple compact quantum groups and examples, and discuss the problem of construction and classification of simple compact quantum groups. Several new quantum groups constructed by Banica, Curran and Speicher since the author's first paper on simple quantum groups are shown to be simple using results of Raum and Weber.

Thermal proteome profiling and proteome analysis using high‐definition mass spectrometry demonstrate modulation of cholesterol biosynthesis by next‐generation galeterone analog VNPP433‐3β in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Elevated level of cholesterol is positively correlated to prostate cancer development and disease severity. Cholesterol‐lowering drugs, such as statins, are demonstrated to inhibit prostate cancer. VNPP433‐3β interrupts multiple signaling and metabolic pathways, including cholesterol biosynthesis, AR‐mediated transcription of several oncogenes, mRNA 5′

Escape from TGF‐β‐induced senescence promotes aggressive hallmarks in epithelial hepatocellular carcinoma cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Chronic TGF‐β exposure drives epithelial HCC cells from a senescent state to a TGF‐β resistant mesenchymal phenotype. This transition is characterized by the loss of Smad3‐mediated signaling, escape from senescence, enhanced invasiveness and metastatic potential, and upregulation of key resistance modulators such as MARK1 and GRM8, ultimately promoting

A potential biomarker of cognitive impairment: The olfactory dysfunction and its genes expression

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, Volume 9, Issue 12, Page 1884-1897, December 2022., 2022
Abstract Objective Accumulation evidence has reported that olfactory impairment may be an essential clinical marker and predictor of mild cognitive impairment or Alzheimer's disease. Method Participants were enrolled in the population‐based, prospective study in Fuxin county, Liaoning province, China between 2019 and 2021.
