A Simple Model of Double Dynamics on Lie Groups [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
We study the dynamics of the rigid rotator on the group manifold of SU(2) as an instance of dynamics on Lie groups together with a dual model whose carrier space is the Borel group SB(2,C), the Lie Poisson dual of SU(2). We thus introduce a parent action on the Drinfeldd double of the above mentioned groups, which describes the dynamics of a system ...

A conjecture of Frobenius and the simple groups of Lie type, II

open access: yesJournal of Algebra, 1984
[Part I, cf. J. Algebra 96, 391-396 (1985; Zbl 0572.20013).] Let \(G\) be a finite group and suppose \(e\) is a positive integer dividing the order of \(G\). Frobenious conjectured that if the number of elements whose order divides \(e\) equals \(e\), then \(G\) has a normal subgroup of order \(e\). The conjecture has been reduced to the classification

Development of Aluminum Scandium Alloys for Hydrogen Storage Valves

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Different aluminum alloy series and various aluminum‐scandium alloys with differing Sc and Zr levels are evaluated for use in hydrogen storage valve production. The alloys undergo hardness testing, optical microscopy, and tensile strength analysis, with hardening behavior studied under varying conditions.

Local Second Order Sobolev Regularity for p-Laplacian Equation in Semi-Simple Lie Group

open access: yesMathematics
In this paper, we establish a structural inequality of the ∞-subLaplacian ▵0,∞ in a class of the semi-simple Lie group endowed with the horizontal vector fields X1,…,X2n.

Multimodal Characterization Method for Metamaterials with Tunable Mechanical Stiffness and Electrical Resistivity

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a multimodal characterization method for a prototype metamaterial model structure that features four distinct states of mechanical stiffness and electrical resistivity. Through simulations and experiments, it uncovers insights into the structural behavior, the correlation between changes in electrical resistivity and mechanical ...

Fusion Systems and Rank $2$ Simple Groups of Lie Type

open access: yesForum of Mathematics, Sigma
For any prime p and S a p-group isomorphic to a Sylow p-subgroup of a rank $2$ simple group of Lie type in characteristic p, we determine all saturated fusion systems supported on S up to isomorphism.

Involutive representations of coordinate algebras and quantum spaces

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2017
We show that s u 2 $$ \mathfrak{s}\mathfrak{u}(2) $$ Lie algebras of coordinate operators related to quantum spaces with s u 2 $$ \mathfrak{s}\mathfrak{u}(2) $$ noncommutativity can be conveniently represented by SO(3)-covariant poly-differential ...

An Integrability Condition for Simple Lie Groups II [PDF]

open access: yesSymmetry, Integrability and Geometry: Methods and Applications, 2015
It is shown that a simple Lie group $G$ ($ \neq {\rm SL}_2$) can be locally characterised by an integrability condition on an $\operatorname{Aut}(\mathfrak{g})$ structure on the tangent bundle, where $\operatorname{Aut}(\mathfrak{g})$ is the automorphism group of the Lie algebra of $G$.

Novel Surface‐Based Bézier Metamaterials: A Higher Degree of Parametrization toward Tailoring the Effective Properties under Compression

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Cubic Bézier curves are used in the synthesis of novel surface‐based metamaterials with tunable mechanical properties. Surface‐based geometries are 3D printed and tested in compression. The resulting mechanical properties are correlated to changes in the shape of the base curve, with high potential in energy absorption through the adjustment of their ...
