Mitigating Disability Bias in Hiring: The Role of Inclusion‐Focused Generative AI in Complex HR Decisions

open access: yesHuman Resource Management Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This research investigates how inclusion‐focused generative AI (GAI), designed with diversity, fairness, and inclusion principles, mitigates disability bias in hiring—particularly under complex, cognitively demanding conditions. Drawing on Construal Level Theory, two experiments with HR professionals (N = 117; 238) compared standard, inclusion‐

Pediatric Versus Adult Shear‐Induced Hemolysis—Are Age‐Related Blood Properties the Main Cause for Differences?

open access: yesArtificial Organs, EarlyView.
Graphical summary of the experimental comparison of shear‐induced hemolysis in pediatric and adult blood using a Couette shearing device. Pediatric blood shows a trend toward lower increase in hemolysis at higher shear stress amplitudes, while no relevant differences are observed at low and intermediate stresses.

Study of the electromagnetic field generated by a magnetic pendulum

open access: yesResults in Physics
In this paper the electromagnetic (EM) field expressions for a magnetic pendulum are derived. The mechanical frequency and the magnetic dipole moment are found by applying mechanical-kinetic theory.

A nonlinear analysis on the three oscillation modes of a bifilar suspension pendulum (1) (Formulation of nonlinear oscillation problem and primary resonance analysis of one degree of freedom nonlinear inertia type forced damping systems)

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2019
A bifilar suspension pendulum, a uniform density bar suspended at its two points by two strings of same length from an upper horizontal plane, may swing in two vertical planes or make torsional oscillation about a vertical axis.

The Moving Center of Mass of a Leaking Bob [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The evaluation of variation in oscillation time period of a simple pendulum as its mass varies proves a rich source of discussion in a physics class-room, overcoming erroneous notions carried forward by students as to what constitutes a pendulum's length

Golden weapons and golden fetters: From the gold standard to the new geopolitics

open access: yesThe Economic History Review, EarlyView.
Abstract This paper explores the historical relationship between monetary regimes, security concerns, and geopolitical tensions, particularly focusing on the role of gold. Throughout history, monetary systems have been deeply intertwined with international state systems and security provisions.

On Schopenhauer's Debt to Spinoza1

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Philosophy, EarlyView.
Abstract Schopenhauer offers ‘nature is not divine but demonic’ as a direct rebuttal of Spinoza's pantheism, his identification of ‘nature’ with ‘God’. And so, one would think, he ought to have been immune to the ‘Spinozism’ that became, as Heine called it, ‘the unofficial religion’ of the age.

Asymptotic shape of solutions to nonlinear eigenvalue problems

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2005
We consider the nonlinear eigenvalue problem $$ -u''(t) = f(lambda, u(t)), quad u mbox{greater than} 0, quad u(0) = u(1) = 0, $$ where $lambda > 0$ is a parameter.

From linear to non-linear/chaotic pendulum: a computational study

open access: yesBibechana
In this work, we have used computational techniques to examine how the dynamics of a simple pendulum change from linear to non-linear and chaotic.
