Robotic Materials With Bioinspired Microstructures for High Sensitivity and Fast Actuation
In the review paper, design rationale and approaches for bioinspired sensors and actuators in robotics applications are presented. These bioinspired microstructure strategies implemented in both can improve the performance in several ways. Also, recent ideas and innovations that embed robotic materials with logic and computation with it are part of the

On machines and organisms. Canguilhem and the disguised aspects of Cartesian animal-machine
The purpose of this article is to discuss Canguilhem’s approach of Cartesian biology. More than a simple textual criticism, Canguilhem aims to demonstrate how, through the mechanical representation of the organism, a machine whose performance depends ...

Ultrafast Dynamic Defect Inspection With Computational Neuromorphic Imaging
Computational neuromorphic imaging (CNI) is leveraged for ultrafast dynamic defect inspection, offering unparalleled capabilities for fast‐moving samples, complex illumination conditions, and real‐time edge detection. The CNI paradigm will enhance our set of inspection tools in challenging environments, paving the way for intelligent, precise, and low ...

Alcune riflessioni sulla psicologia di Hegel [PDF]
[Some reflections on Hegel’s psychology]. The confrontation with the psychology of his time, both under an empirical and under a rational point of view, convinces Hegel that a radical reform of this discipline, which had not been touched, in his view, by

Pre‐Torsion Tubular Metamaterials: Multi‐Effect Integration for Advanced Functional Applications
Through a pre‐torsion design paradigm, the authors design and fabricate a class of multi‐effect mechanical metamaterial that synergistically integrates compression‐torsion and auxetic behaviors over an extensive strain range, and their formation mechanisms are quantitatively analyzed and elucidated via experiments and finite element methods.

Thinking together with Philip Cam: Theories for practitioners and assessing thinking
Philip Cam has been an inspiration to me in his approach to Philosophy for Children, and I have tried to follow the trail he blazed. He is a master of developing what I call ‘practitioner theories’ of Philosophy for Children. These are practical theories
