Fatty Acid Metabolism in Health and Cancer: From Fundamental Mechanisms to Therapeutic Application

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 6, June 2026.
The modulation of the TME by fatty acid metabolism primarily occurs through four key pathways: inflammation regulation, signal transduction, translation to TME, and oxidative stress. ABSTRACT Fatty acid metabolism (FAM) plays a vital role in maintaining health by supporting energy production, cellular structure, and signaling processes.

Stabilizing Plasmodium falciparum proteins for small molecule drug discovery

open access: yesProtein Science, Volume 35, Issue 6, June 2026.
Abstract Early‐stage drug discovery relies on the availability of stable protein for reliable biophysical characterization of ligand binding. However, many Plasmodium falciparum proteins are challenging to produce in heterologous systems, which limits their experimental utility.

Age‐Dependent Differences in Canakinumab Safety: A Comprehensive Pharmacovigilance Analysis Using the FAERS Database

open access: yesPharmacology Research &Perspectives, Volume 14, Issue 3, June 2026.
ABSTRACT While the efficacy of canakinumab, an anti‐interleukin‐1β monoclonal antibody, is well‐established, its safety profile, particularly across different age groups, remains inadequately explored. Using the FDA Adverse Event Reporting System (FAERS) database, this study evaluated postmarketing safety by analyzing adverse event (AE) reports from ...

Prevalence and Determinants of Condom Non‐Use During Last Sexual Encounter Among Unmarried Women of Reproductive Age in Tanzania: Findings From a National Survey

open access: yesPublic Health Challenges, Volume 5, Issue 2, June 2026.
Nearly one in five unmarried Tanzanian women did not use a condom during their last sexual encounter. Education, parity, and sexual behavior significantly influence non‐use, highlighting the need for targeted sexuality education and empowerment interventions to improve condom uptake and reduce STI and unintended pregnancy risks.
