Structural damage identification using mathematical optimization techniques [PDF]
An identification procedure is proposed to identify damage characteristics (location and size of the damage) from dynamic measurements. This procedure was based on minimization of the mean-square measure of difference between measurement data (natural ...

DNA‐Origami‐Assembled Rhodium Nanoantennas for Deep‐UV Label‐Free Single‐Protein Detection
Deep‐UV autofluorescence of single proteins in DNA origami‐based rhodium nanoantennas. Precisely positioned within the plasmonic nanogap, proteins retain their native state while their intrinsic emission is strongly amplified, enabling label‐free single‐molecule detection and opening new opportunities for highly sensitive and specific biosensing ...

Speckle‐Engineered Upconversion Amplification in Nanoemulsion‐Templated Hydrogel Microdomes
Nanoemulsion‐confined PEGDA microdomes generate speckle‐like excitation fields that strongly amplify upconversion luminescence upon dehydration, enabling filter‐free visible readout with reversible on–off switching. DMD‐based lithography yields scalable, shape‐programmable arrays for moisture‐responsive displays and optical encryption.

Retrofitting of a Multi-Span Simply Supported Bridge into a Semi-Integral Bridge
Thousands of multi-span, simply supported beam bridges with short or medium spans have been built in China. They often suffer from problems of cracks in the link slabs over piers, and the deterioration and damage of deck expansion joints at abutments. To

MODAL ANALYSIS OF A SIMPLY SUPPORTED SANDWICH BEAM
Every mechanical structure exhibits natural modes of vibration. Beams with variable cross section and material properties are frequently used in aeronautical, mechanical and civil engineering. Given the elastic and inertia characteristics of the structures, modes of vibration can be computed, the study being known as modal analysis. This paper presents
