Development of a vehicle robotic driver with intelligent control system modelling for automated standard driving-cycle tests [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
New road vehicles are required to undergo several specific tests to meet the requirement set by governing bodies in various markets. These tests are often carried out over specific driving-cycles.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

A Recursive Least-Squares Algorithm for the Identification of Trilinear Forms

open access: yesAlgorithms, 2020
High-dimensional system identification problems can be efficiently addressed based on tensor decompositions and modelling. In this paper, we design a recursive least-squares (RLS) algorithm tailored for the identification of trilinear forms, namely RLS ...

Heterogeneous Modeling, Identification and Simulation of Activated Sludge Processes [PDF]

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Environmental Sciences, 2009
Problem statement: The activated sludge system is a complex dynamic process and must account for a large number of reactions between large numbers of components. There is necessity for simulation models which describe the dynamic behavior of the activated sludge process.

A methionine‐lined active site governs carbocation stabilization and product specificity in a bacterial terpene synthase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

A New Simulation Model for Skin Abscess Identification and Management [PDF]

open access: yesSimulation in Healthcare: The Journal of the Society for Simulation in Healthcare, 2010
Cutaneous abscesses are common, and emergency physicians in training must develop competency with abscess identification and management through incision and drainage. Although simulation models can enable proficiency in such skills, current abscess models described in the literature suffer from limitations.
