Submicron Metasurface Reconfigured Multiband Smart Windows

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work presents a submicron metasurface reconfigured multiband thermochromic smart window. By integrating subwavelength nanostructures into a Fabry−Perot resonator configuration, it mitigates conventional trade‐offs to simultaneously deliver high luminous transmittance and robust solar heating and radiative cooling modulation capabilities ...

Ultrasensitive Detection of Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea Virus Infections Using Multivalent DNA Nanostructure‐Enabled Lateral Flow Assay

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A multivalent DNA nanostructure‐enabled lateral flow assay was developed for rapid, ultrasensitive detection of porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDV) nucleocapsid protein. Designer net‐shaped DNA nanostructures (DNA‐Net) presenting PEDV‐specific aptamers achieved ~1000‐fold enhanced binding, enabling detection of viral copies with Ct ≤ 37.42 within 10

Is problem solving, or simulation model solving, mission critical?

open access: yes, 2005
How do we consider problems and models in the practice of simulation? It is our possibly contentious observation that simulation model solving seems to be more critical to the mission of simulation modeling than problem solving.

A Fully Human Engineered Bone Niche With Endogenous Osteoclastogenesis Reveals Osteoclast‐Dependent Osteomimicry in Prostate Cancer Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A human 3D bone niche integrating osteoblasts and osteoclasts enables co‐culture with prostate cancer cell lines and patient‐derived organoids. The engineered niche (i) models aspects of reciprocal phenotypic regulation between osteoblasts and cancer cells, (ii) captures osteoclast‐enhanced osteomimicry in tumor cells, and (iii) establishes a ...

Photothermal‐Activated Antibacterial Amyloid‐Polyphenol‐Iron Hydrogels for Synergistic Wound Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
We report a thermally triggered supramolecular hydrogel (LTFe) formed by Fe3+ and tannic acid on lysozyme amyloid fibrils. Fe3+ enables rapid gelation and photothermal transduction with an efficiency of 88.56%. The LTFe hydrogel exhibits excellent biocompatibility, potent antibacterial activity against E. coli and S.

A COMPLETE METHODOLOGY FOR THE COMPUTATION OF EXTERNAL HEAT FLUXES FOR THE TRANSIENT THERMAL ANALYSIS OF SATELLITES

open access: yesHavacılık ve Uzay Teknolojileri Dergisi, 2018
This paper describes a complete methodology for the computation of transient external heat fluxes (i.e. solar, albedo and earth) for a given set of orbital parameters such as altitude, solar constant etc. and orientation of the satellite.
