DESIGNING AND SIMULATING CLOTHES

International Journal of Image and Graphics, 2001
The most intuitive and natural approach for building garments takes its inspiration from the traditional garment industry where garments are created from two-dimensional patterns and then seamed together. MIRACloth uses this approach. Working with 2D patterns is the simplest way of keeping an accurate, precise and measurable description and ...

Design of fault simulator

Reliability Engineering & System Safety, 2009
Fault simulator is proposed to understand and evaluate all possible fault propagation scenarios, which is an essential part of safety design and operation design and support of chemical/production processes. Process models are constructed and integrated with fault models, which are formulated in qualitative manner using fault semantic networks (FSN ...

Simulation, a tool for designing‐in reliability

Quality and Reliability Engineering International, 1993
AbstractThis paper describes a new method for the analysis and optimization of reliability as an integrated part of the design process of electronic circuits. It bases itself on the analysis of the susceptibility of failure mechanisms in components as a function of the combinations of external stress factors (stressor‐sets).

Simulation model design

Proceedings of Winter Simulation Conference, 1995
Presents a structure for defining and categorizing simulation model designs. In the past, simulation researchers have created categories for discrete event simulation: event, process and activity; however, there are problems with this breakdown. First, the major problem is that the taxonomy based on these three sub-types deals with only discrete event ...

Designing simulation experiments

Proceedings of the 31st conference on Winter simulation Simulation---a bridge to the future - WSC '99, 1999
This tutorial introduces some of the ideas, issues, challenges, solutions, and opportunities in deciding how to experiment with a simulation model to learn about its behavior. Careful planning, or designing, of simulation experiments is generally a great help, saving time and effort by providing efficient ways to estimate the effects of changes in the ...

Nanotechnology: Simulation and design

2015 IEEE Frontiers in Education Conference (FIE), 2015
A faculty team from Electrical and Computer Engineering, Biology and Physics have developed three 300-level general education lecture courses in nanotechnology and a 400/500-level supporting laboratory with NSF support. This paper focuses on one of these courses: ECE/SCI 383U Nanotechnology: Simulation and Design.

Design Simulation

CAADRIA proceedings, 1999
This paper intends to explore methods of constructing a design simulator. Two methodologies, approached differently, imitate the human design processes. The first component is an algorithmic method which has a cognitive model embedded. This cognitive model hypothesizes that human design has certain design logic applied.

Modelling and simulation of design errors

Proceedings 1992 IEEE International Conference on Computer Design: VLSI in Computers & Processors, 2003
When using simulation for design verification, only a subset of possible simulation patterns is used, since exhaustive simulation is usually not practical. When this subset is used, the designer wants to know how efficiently the design has been verified.

Community design of community simulations

Proceedings of the 4th conference on Designing interactive systems: processes, practices, methods, and techniques, 2002
We report on a participatory design workshop in which residents of a community collaborated in learning about and designing projects for a visual simulation environment. Nine participants (five middle school teachers, four senior citizens) first conducted a participatory evaluation of a tutorial developed for the Stagecast Creator simulation tool. They

Simulation as design

[1988] Proceedings. The Third Israel Conference on Computer Systems and Software Engineering, 2003
Whilst simulation offers much to the designer of process control systems, it is rarely used for small systems because of the overhead of moving between simulation and implementation. A technique is presented which views simulation as an integral part of implementation and which removes the disincentive to simulation.
