The stability criteria affecting the formation of high‐entropy alloys, particularly focusing in supersaturated solid solutions produced by mechanical alloying, are analyzed. Criteria based on Hume–Rothery rules are distinguished from those derived from thermodynamic relations. The formers are generally applicable to mechanically alloyed samples.

ACREAGE RESPONSE, EXPECTED PRICE FUNCTIONS, AND ENDOGENOUS PRICE EXPECTATIONS [PDF]
Taking the price of futures as a proxy for expected price, this article treats acreage planted to soybean, the price of futures, and other variables as jointly dependent.

Predicting extreme defects in additive manufacturing remains a key challenge limiting its structural reliability. This study proposes a statistical framework that integrates Extreme Value Theory with advanced process indicators to explore defect–process relationships and improve the estimation of critical defect sizes. The approach provides a basis for

A mathematical model of retinal receptive fields capable of form and color analysis
In an effort to understand the workings of the retinal receptive fields, Enroth-Cugell and Robson developed a mathematical model that utilized the difference-of-Gaussian (DOG) function, an equation in which the inhibitory portion of a receptive field is ...

Empirical Evidences from a Coffee Paradox: An Export Supply/Price Asymmetry Approach [PDF]
This paper aims to determine the solidity of the notion of the "coffee paradox" using annual data from 1977 to 2007. In the confines of an export supply model, we analyze the effects of export coffee price on export volume.

This study presents a reversible temperature sensor with high switching ratio, ∼103. The device is fabricated using PET‐ITO and carbon nanotube dispersions in alkane. Considering its application in cold chain logistics, a proof‐of‐concept with LED is showcased. Thus, a temperature drop below the threshold temperature (crystallization temperature of the

A model of growth and finance: FIML estimates for India [PDF]
Many empirical works addressed the nature of the relationship between economic growth and financial developments. Although these studies concede that they are interdependent, they have used single equations methods for estimation.
