Simultaneously Fitting and Segmenting Multiple-Structure Data with Outliers
IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence, 2012We propose a robust fitting framework, called Adaptive Kernel-Scale Weighted Hypotheses (AKSWH), to segment multiple-structure data even in the presence of a large number of outliers. Our framework contains a novel scale estimator called Iterative Kth Ordered Scale Estimator (IKOSE).

Fitting a Single Active Appearance Model Simultaneously to Multiple Images
Procedings of the British Machine Vision Conference 2004, 2004Active Appearance Models (AAMs) are a well studied 2D deformable model. One recently proposed extension of AAMs to multiple images is the CoupledView AAM. Coupled-View AAMs model the 2D shape and appearance of a face in two or more views simultaneously.

An accurate determination of the angle \(\gamma \) of the Unitary Triangle is one of the most important goals of the LHCb experiment. The LHCb detector is a single-arm spectrometer at the LHC, optimised for beauty and charm flavour physics. As the angle \(\gamma \) is the least experimentally constrained parameter of the Unitary Triangle, its precise ...

Simultaneous pattern recognition and track fitting by the Kalman filtering method
Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section A: Accelerators, Spectrometers, Detectors and Associated Equipment, 1990Abstract A progressive pattern recognition algorithm based on the Kalman filtering method has been tested. The algorithm starts from a small track segment or from a fitted track of a neighbouring detector, then extends the candidate tracks by adding measured points one by one. The fitted parameters and weight matrix of the candidate track are updated

Simultaneous Multi-Surface Fitting for Vessel Wall Layer Delineation
2019 IEEE EMBS International Conference on Biomedical & Health Informatics (BHI), 2019Intravascular optical coherence tomography (OCT) provides high-resolution images of arterial cross-sections, offering rich information on vessel morphology and disease state. The detection of the media layer is crucial for improving quantitative analyses, including plaque characterization.

Simultaneous rotation and translation fitting of two 3-D point sets
IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics, Part B (Cybernetics), 1997A single-stage linear method is devised in this paper to simultaneously fit rotation and translation (pose) parameters given two sets of three-dimensional (3-D) point measurements. The necessary and sufficient conditions for the unique solution of the pose determination problem are stated. The computational complexity of the new algorithm is similar to

Simultaneous fitting of several planes to point sets using neural networks
Computer Vision, Graphics, and Image Processing, 1990It is a simple problem to fit one line to a collection of points in the plane. But when the problem is generalized to two or more lines then the problem complexity becomes exponential in the number of points because we must decide on a partitioning of the points among the lines they are to fit.
