Phased Array Antenna for Bi-Static Simultaneous Transmit and Receive (STAR) Systems

This paper discusses a bistatic Ku-band simultaneously transmitting and receiving (STAR) fixed beams array antenna system with high isolation between Tx and Rx elements. Arrays have eight active dual-pol patch antenna elements and two passive elements on either ends of the array.

Wideband scanning array of spiral antennas for simultaneous transmit and receive (STAR)

We present a low profile (λ LOW /8) wideband slot spiral antenna array with high transmit/receive (Tx/Rx) isolation and scanning capability for STAR systems. To our knowledge, this is the first wideband STAR array with circular polarization and scanning capability.

An Interior Parasitic Patch Antenna with Wide Isolation Bandwidth for Simultaneous Transmit and Receive (STAR)

A microstrip patch antenna with a 180° hybrid coupler and parasitic patches under radiating patches is proposed for STAR applications. The antenna geometry and isolation improving methods are explained. Simulation results of S-parameters, gain, antenna efficiency, and radiation patterns, are presented.

Wideband Beam Steering Using a 4-Arm Spiral Array for Simultaneous Transmit and Receive (STAR) Operation

We demonstrate a wideband scanning 4-arm spiral antenna array with high transmit/receive isolation for Simultaneous Transmit and Receive (STAR). STAR increases a channel's spectral efficiency by transmitting and receiving across the full bandwidth of a channel. To our knowledge, this is the first STAR array to demonstrate scanning across GHz bandwidths.
