Accounting for Substitution: Improving Estimates of GHG Reductions From Cattle‐Based Product Demand Shifts

open access: yesApplied Economic Perspectives and Policy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Estimates of reductions in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from lower demand for cattle‐based products must account for substitution effects. This study collected data through two surveys—one on ground beef and another on dairy milk—to evaluate substitution effects and potential GHG reductions.

Exact renormalization group and Sine Gordon theory

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2017
The exact renormalization group is used to study the RG flow of quantities in field theories. The basic idea is to write an evolution operator for the flow and evaluate it in perturbation theory.

The rain feels different under the same umbrella: Experiences with poverty across LGBTQ subgroups

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Community Psychology, EarlyView.
Abstract Population‐based survey data have demonstrated that LGBTQ communities report varying rates of economic insecurity, yet very little research directly assesses how pathways into and experiences with poverty look different among subgroups at the intersections of sexual orientation and gender identity (SOGI).

The Lattice Sine-Gordon Equation as a Superposition Formula for an NLS-Type System

open access: yes, 2021
We treat the lattice sine-Gordon equation and two of its generalised symmetries as a compatible system. Elimination of shifts from the two symmetries of the lattice sine-Gordon equation yields an integrable NLS-type system.

Exact Solutions and Soliton Transmission in Relativistic Wave Phenomena of Klein–Fock–Gordon Equation via Subsequent Sine-Gordon Equation Method

open access: yesAxioms
This study explores the (1+1)-dimensional Klein–Fock–Gordon equation, a distinct third-order nonlinear differential equation of significant theoretical interest.

Novel Exact Solutions of the Extended Shallow Water Wave and the Fokas Equations

open access: yesITM Web of Conferences, 2018
In this study, a Sine-Gordon expansion method for obtaining novel exact solutions of extended shallow water wave equation and Fokas equation is presented. All of the equations which are under consideration consist of three or four variable.

Border harm and affective injustice: The politics of anger at the Melilla border, Spain

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Community Psychology, EarlyView.
Abstract This article examines protests in a detention center in Melilla, Spain—a site where structural violence intersects with the everyday harms of confinement. Adopting a justice and dignity‐centered perspective, we analyze grassroots forms of resistance emerging at the border. The study focuses on the protests of Tunisian migrants and explores the

Design and Simulation of Sine-Gordon Lattice System [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The sine-Gordon equation is one of the nonlinear and integrable partial differential equations that can be solved exactly and has soliton solution. This equation was first introduced for Josephson junction propagation and has been applied to many other ...

The Changing Landscape of Maintenance Therapy in Newly Diagnosed Multiple Myeloma: A Systematic Review With Network Meta‐Analysis of the European Myeloma Network (EMN)

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Hematology, EarlyView.
Our meta‐analysis showed significant improvement of PFS with lenalidomide, proteasome inhibitors, and CD38‐based therapies. A significant OS benefit was noted only with lenalidomide in transplant‐eligible (TE) patients, while CD38‐directed therapy showed a trend toward improved OS.

Numerical simulation of two dimensional sine-Gordon solitons using modified cubic B-spline differential quadrature method

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2015
In this paper, a modified cubic B-spline differential quadrature method (MCB-DQM) is employed for the numerical simulation of two-space dimensional nonlinear sine-Gordon equation with appropriate initial and boundary conditions.
