High-entropy alloyed single-atom Pt for methanol oxidation electrocatalysis

open access: yesNature Communications
The methanol oxidation reaction is the bottleneck for direct methanol fuel cells. Unfortunately, the state-of-the-art Pt-based catalysts suffer heavily from the CO poisoning problem. Isolating Pt atoms in a material can avoid CO poisoning.

Kinetics‐Controlled Architecture of Binder‐Free Organic Electrodes for Enhanced Ion Transport

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Pulse reverse electrodeposition controls nucleation and growth to create hierarchically porous Py‐derived oligomeric electrodes with enhanced ionic accessibility and reduced transport resistance. The resulting binder‐free architectures translate these transport advantages into practical sodium‐storage functionality.

CO2‐to‐CO Conversion in a Gas‐Fed, Zero‐Gap, PEM Electrolyzer Enabled by Polycations and Nitrogen‐Doped Carbon‐Supported Cobalt Nanoparticles

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A gas‐fed, zero‐gap, PEM CO2 electrolyzer is realized by incorporating PDDA+ ions onto the carbonaceous Co/N‐C electrocatalyst, with gaseous H2 and CO2 fed into the anode and cathode, respectively. Operating without an aqueous electrolyte, the system sustains a peak FECO of 65.1% at 100 mA cm−2. ABSTRACT Electrochemical carbon dioxide reduction (ECO2R)

In situ modulating coordination fields of single-atom cobalt catalyst for enhanced oxygen reduction reaction

open access: yesNature Communications
Single-atom catalysts, especially those with metal−N4 moieties, hold great promise for facilitating the oxygen reduction reaction. However, the symmetrical distribution of electrons within the metal−N4 moiety results in unsatisfactory adsorption strength

Embedded Direct Ink Writing of Thermoset and Elastomeric Polymers via Frontal Polymerization

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Embedded frontal polymerization direct ink writing (FP‐DIW) combines frontal ring‐opening metathesis polymerization with embedded 3D printing to decouple deposition from curing. A yield‐stress support bath stabilizes low‐viscosity inks, while on‐demand thermal initiation enables controlled front propagation. This approach expands the accessible feature
