Lanthanide Single-Ion Molecular Magnets
2015The most important lanthanide single-ion molecular magnets (SIMMs) reported to date including the lanthanide phthalocyanine, lanthanide β-diketone, and organometallic lanthanide systems are systematically investigated in this chapter. In particular, some important relationships between the structural features and magnetic performances are discussed in ...

A capped trigonal prismatic cobalt(ii) complex as a structural archetype for single-ion magnets.
Dalton Transactions, 2020Two mononuclear, seven-coordinate Co(ii) and Fe(ii) complexes [CoII(BPA-TPA)](BF4)2 (1-Co) and [FeII(BPA-TPA)](ClO4)2 (2-Fe) with a capped trigonal prismatic coordination geometry have been synthesized from the pentapyridyldiamine (BPA-TPA) ligand.

Single-ion magnet behaviour in [U(TpMe2)2I]
Dalton Transactions, 2012[U(Tp(Me2))(2)I] exhibits at low temperatures single molecule magnet (SMM) behaviour comparable to its bipyridine derivative and related single ion U(III) complexes recently reported as SMMs. The trend of variation of the energy barrier for the magnetic relaxation in these compounds is well reproduced by quantum chemistry calculations.

Advances in Lanthanide Single-Ion Magnets
2014We present an overview of the investigation methods of lanthanide-based single-ion magnet. The electronic structure of lanthanide ions is described in the picture of electron–electron interaction, spin–orbit coupling, and ligand-field effects. The ligand-field Hamiltonian is introduced in cooperation with equivalent operator method.

Capping Ligand Perturbed Slow Magnetic Relaxation in Dysprosium Single‐Ion Magnets
Chemistry – A European Journal, 2011AbstractSingle‐ion magnets 1 and 2 and their diamagnetic analogues 3 and 4 for magnetic‐site dilution were obtained through substitution of the coordinated water molecules of [Ln(TTA)3(H2O)2] (Ln=Dy (1, 2), Y (3, 4); TTA=4,4,4‐trifluoro‐1‐(2‐thienyl)‐1,3‐butanedionate) by 2,2′‐bipyridine (1, 3) and 1,10‐phenanthroline (2, 4) capping ligands.
