Single longitudinal mode operation of an XeCl laser
Applied Physics Letters, 1984Single longitudinal mode output from a directly tuned, long pulse, magnetically switched XeCl laser is reported for the first time. Mode control was achieved using spatial aperatures and intracavity etalons. The narrow bandwidth laser output was diffraction limited with an optical pulse width of 30 ns, which would yield a transform limited bandwidth of

Partition fluctuations in nearly single-longitudinal-mode lasers
Journal of Lightwave Technology, 1984A simple model of mode partition noise is developed, which is valid for semiconductor lasers operating CW, having a single active region and oscillating primarily in one dominant mode. It is shown that the intensity fluctuations in the nonlasing modes occur with characteristic times of a few nanoseconds and have exponential probability distributions ...

Single-longitudinal-mode cascaded crystalline Raman laser at 1.7 µm
Optics Letters, 2020A single-longitudinal-mode crystalline Raman laser in the 1.7 µm wave band was reported for the first time, to the best of our knowledge. The Y V O 4 Raman laser, which was intracavity-pumped by an actively Q -switched 1314 nm Nd:YLF laser, demonstrated the ...

Highly efficient single longitudinal mode-pulsed green laser
Chinese Optics Letters, 2013A novel design for a highly ecient 1-kHz single-frequency green laser is proposed. An ecient single-frequency laser pulse output at 532-nm wavelength may be obtained by combining the injection seeding with intracavity frequency doubling in a compact U-shaped cavity formed by two plano dichroic mirrors in an end-pumping arrangement. The laser is capable

Simple single longitudinal mode Q-switched Nd:YAG oscillator
IEEE Journal of Quantum Electronics, 1985A simple three-mirror resonator is considered for longitudinal mode control in a passively Q -switched Nd:YAG laser. This configuration provides temporally smooth output pulses with duration determined by dye concentration and continuously variable from 300 to 10 ns. Previous problems with spatial beam quality can be minimized by careful arrangement of

Versatile high-power single-longitudinal-mode pulsed dye laser
Applied Optics, 1981A versatile high-spectral-energy density dye laser suitable for lidar applications and high-resolution spectroscopy is reported. The dye laser includes an oscillator and preamplifier and two amplifier stages. With transverse pumping by the second harmonic of a Nd:YAG laser, an efficiency of 55% was achieved at 589 nm, providing 165 mJ in a single ...

A tunable and single-longitudinal-mode Ho:YLF laser
Infrared Physics & Technology, 2016Abstract A 1.94 μm Tm-doped fiber laser pumped tunable single-longitudinal-mode Ho:YLF laser with double etalons was reported for the first time. The maximum single-longitudinal-mode output power of 345 mW at 2051.6 nm was achieved at the absorbed pump power of 11.9 W, corresponding to a slope efficiency of 5.5% and an optical conversion efficiency ...

Single-longitudinal mode, monolithic, green solid-state laser
Applied Physics B, 2010We present the practical realization of a monolithic single-frequency diode pumped Nd:YVO4/YVO4/KTP microchip laser with birefringent filter operating at 532 nm. Theoretical analysis of the single-mode operation of such a laser configuration is presented. Experimental results are in good agreement with theoretical analysis.

Single longitudinal-mode optical phonon scattering in Ga0.47In0.53As
Applied Physics Letters, 1983We show that only one of the four Raman active modes in Ga0.47In0.53As shows the required symmetry behavior for longitudinal optical (LO) phonons. An additional mode previously supposed to be LO shows mixed-mode behavior and may be disorder activated.

Power dropout statistics of nearly single-longitudinal-mode semiconductor lasers
Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics, 1984Mode partition noise is unavoidable with semiconductor lasers, even when the laser is oscillating in a nearly single longitudinal mode.1-4 This noise shows up in the form of power dropouts in the main mode, and power increases in the side modes. Such power dropouts were first observed by Linke et al.5 Main-mode power dropouts can affect the performance
