Single-longitudinal-mode, tunable, pulsed Ti:sapphire laser oscillator

Optics Letters, 1989
A 2.0-mJ/pulse, 2-nsec, single-longitudinal-mode Ti:sapphire laser oscillator has been demonstrated in a compact grazing-incidence cavity configuration similar to a Littman arrangement. The oscillator's output beam quality is TEM(00), making it attractive for doubling and mixing applications.

Single longitudinal mode oscillation from a multi-interferometric cavity

Applied Optics, 2009
A method to generate stable single longitudinal mode (SLM) radiation from a multi-interferometric cavity configuration that can be considered as the combination of one Michelson cavity and two Fox-Smith cavities is presented. A numerical model of the interferometric cavity is investigated to optimize the laser for mode selection, and experimental ...

Mode stability analysis of nearly single-longitudinal-mode semiconductor lasers

IEEE Journal of Quantum Electronics, 1988
Power fluctuations in the main mode of a nearly single-longitudinal-mode AlGaAs laser are investigated. Average CW mode powers were measured to analyze the static characteristics of oscillation. For the dynamic characteristics, the escape probability was measured to evaluate the magnitude and the frequency of fluctuations.

The influence of mode partition fluctuations in nearly single longitudinal mode lasers

Journal of Lightwave Technology, 1986
A simple relationship between the mode ratio of a two-mode laser and an empirical mode partition coefficient is derived. The effects of the mode ratio of a two-mode laser on the bit-error-rate floor of an optical fiber system are calculated, and the power penalties due to mode partitioning in the presence of Gaussian receiver noise are evaluated.

Comparison Between Single-Longitudinal-Mode and Two-Longitudinal-Mode Pumping Cavity OPSMMWL

International Journal of Infrared and Millimeter Waves, 2002
A CO2 infrared laser system with a etalon to be the longitudinal mode select equipment was set up to be the optically pump source, as well as a mini NH3 with 20cm long sample tube to be the sub-millimeter wave laser. CO2-9R(16) line was chose to pump the mini-NH3 SMMW laser, and 90.4um SMMW line was obtained by single-longtudinal-mode or two ...

RTP Q-switched single-longitudinal-mode Nd:YAG laser with a twisted-mode cavity

Applied Optics, 2015
This paper describes a high pulse repetition frequency Nd:YAG twisted-mode laser that uses an RTP crystal as the electro-optic Q-switch. Stable single-longitudinal-mode laser beams at 1, 5, and 10 kHz were obtained with a linewidth less than 0.1 GHz.

Resonantly pumped single-longitudinal-mode Ho:YAG laser

Applied Physics B, 2016
We demonstrated a 1.9-μm-pumped high-efficiency single-longitudinal-mode Ho:YAG laser with intra-cavity etalons for the first time. By inserting the F–P etalons into the laser cavity, single-longitudinal-mode Ho:YAG lasing was achieved at a wavelength of 2081.2 nm.

High-efficiency single-longitudinal-mode laser

OSA Annual Meeting, 1993
This is a new type laser composed by two resonators. It conquers the contradiction between the efficiency and the quality of single longitudinal mode (SLM), and there is no strict matching requirement for resonator and modes of injection locking.

Tunable, Single-Longitudinal Mode 2 μm VECSEL

Frontiers in Optics + Laser Science APS/DLS, 2019
A tunable, 2 μm, narrow linewidth vertical-external-cavity surface-emitting laser (VECSEL) is demonstrated. Single-longitudinal mode operation with sub-MHz linewidth is achieved over a tuning range of 80 nm.

Single-longitudinal-mode laser as a discrete dynamical system

Journal of the Optical Society of America B, 1985
A solid-state laser running on a single longitudinal mode can show chaotic time behavior if several transverse modes are excited. The temporal development of the laser is approximated by a Kirchhoff integral together with a rate equation for the inversion.
