A Single-Phase Multilevel Inverter With Battery Balancing
IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2013In this paper, a single-phase multilevel inverter with battery balancing is proposed. The input of each individual inverter is directly connected to a battery. The combination of batteries can be controlled according to the batteries' voltages to implement the battery-balancing function.

Single-phase Z-source inverter

Single-Phase Stepped-Wave Inverter
IETE Journal of Research, 1981The paper presents experimental results of the synthesized single-phase stepped-voltage waveforms. The inverter system uses 3-level pulse-width modulated inverters in cascade. Microprocessor is used to generate the gate-trigger signals of thyristors. The harmonic components of the output waveform are compared with the theoretical results.
