Short-Circuit Fault Diagnosis Based on Rough Sets Theory for a Single-Phase Inverter
IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, 2019The short-circuit (SC) fault diagnosis in inverters is an important procedure for the continuity of the performance and the extension of its useful life. The methods of diagnosis of SC failures produce good results, however, they present unfavorable aspects: they detect only one of the faults of SC, that is to say, the hard switch fault (HSF) or the ...

2020 2nd International Conference on Control Systems, Mathematical Modeling, Automation and Energy Efficiency (SUMMA), 2020
This research paper describes the modeling and analysis of operating regimes of distribution electrical lines with isolated and compensated neutral for single-phase earth faults. The results of the work allow us to form standards based on several parameters characteristic of this regime, which can be used to identify the abnormal mode and creates ...

Behaviour of single-phase self-excited induction generator during short-circuit at terminals
COMPEL - The international journal for computation and mathematics in electrical and electronic engineering, 2018PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to present analysis of short-circuit transients in a single-phase self-excited induction generator (SP-SEIG) for different capacitor topologies. Design/methodology/approachThe paper presents field analysis of the short-circuit problem in the SP-SEIG on the base of two-dimensional field-circuit model of the generator.

Protection of overhead lines with voltage of 380 V from the single-phase short circuits
2016 2nd International Conference on Industrial Engineering, Applications and Manufacturing (ICIEAM), 2016The article deals with the issue of increasing the efficiency of the fuses in 380 V electrical networks with TN-C system with single-phase short circuits on the PEN conductor. The problem essence and scale are described briefly. To bring the protection in compliance with new regulatory requirements, partitioning the low voltage distribution network is ...

Modeling of short-circuit transients at terminals of a single-phase self-excited induction generator
2017 18th International Symposium on Electromagnetic Fields in Mechatronics, Electrical and Electronic Engineering (ISEF) Book of Abstracts, 2017In the paper, sudden short-circuit transients at terminals of an autonomous single-phase induction generator were simulated using field-circuit 2D model of the single-phase induction generator. The transients at terminals were calculated for different configurations of capacitors in stator windings.

Probabilistic Short Circuit Analysis on Zero-sequence Current in Single-phase Grounding Faults
2019 IEEE 3rd International Electrical and Energy Conference (CIEEC), 2019In this paper, based on probability modeling, Monte Carlo simulation is adopted to conduct the probabilistic short circuit analysis on the single-phase grounding faults of distribution network. Firstly, a distribution network with four feeders and a photovoltaic (PV) generation is built in Matlab/ Simulink.

The values of single-phase short-circuit currents are calculated at the designing of power supply systems for selecting the parameters of fusible inserts and settings of circuit breakers. Active resistance of the arc exerts a significant effect on the single-phase short circuit current in the distribution network, especially if the short circuit occurs

The short-circuit contribution of Inverter interfaced systems is determined by the control architecture, generally limited to 110%–150% of rated current and is generally not sustained past a cycle or two. IEEE1574 compliant inverters with anti-islanding may trip without contributing to a fault.

Fault Diagnosis for the Short-Circuit Fault of the Single-phase Five-Level VIENNA Active Rectifier
2020The five-level VIENNA rectifier is very well suited to the short-circuit switch fault. However, this type of fault causes a distortion in the input phase current, one flying- capacitor to be discharged to zero and the other to be charged until corresponding output capacitor voltage.
